The bells rang, the whistles followed… and Cape Town showed up in full voice!

On 21 and 22 March, Last Night of the Proms 2026 filled Cape Town City Hall with music, joy, and that unmistakable sense of togetherness — from soaring solos to rousing finales that had the entire hall on its feet.

Under the baton of Richard C**k, this much-loved tradition once again brought people together in celebration of music and community, in support of the incredible work of the Rotary Club of Wynberg, and proudly sponsored by the City of Cape Town.

To everyone who joined us — who listened, sang, waved, and whistled — thank you for being part of the magic.

These bells are over a century of history in motion!

Perched high above the city, the magnificent 39-bell carillon at Cape Town City Hall is the largest fully functional musical carillon in Africa—and you can hear it live at Last Night of the Proms this weekend.

Masterfully played by Alexios Vicatos, who restored this remarkable instrument through years of dedication and volunteer work, the bells will ring out before and after the concert.

Inside the hall, the celebration continues with a spectacular evening of music presented by the Rotary Club of Wynberg and proudly sponsored by the City of Cape Town—all in aid of charity.
