DSTV Error Codes Solutions

Having trouble with your DSTV, signal issues, scrambled picture or no picture at all.
In this blog we will assist you in fixing some of those annoying error codes that appears when you least expect it.
E04 – PLEASE INSERT SMARTCARD
Cause of error:
The Smartcard may not be inserted correclty.
The Fix:
Power off your decoder and remove the Smartcard,
wipe it gently with a dry soft cloth and insert it back into the decoder.
Then power up the decoder and the problem should be resolved
E16 – SERVICE IS CURRENTLY SCRAMBLED
Cause of error:
Transmission might be temporarily suspended on your account.
How to fix it:
Press MENU on your remote control, then press 4 to check your Mail Messages.
If you have a notification from us saying that you need to pay your account,
then payment needs to be made before your services can be reactivated.
E37 – INVALID CHANNEL NUMBER
Cause of error:
The channel number you selected is not available for viewing.
How to fix it:
You can see a full list of available viewing channels by pressing the DOWN arrow on your remote control.
XTRAVIEW – WAITING FOR COMMUNICATION
Cause of error:
Your XtraView Network connection has been interrupted and needs to be reset.
How to fix it:
If you have just experienced a power outage, and your secondary SD PVR decoder in your XtraView setup is displaying
a “Waiting for Communication” message, you can reset the network connection online using the form above.
For all other XtraView setups, please leave your decoder on and wait 15 minutes for the connection to be restored.
