SORRY ABOUT THE GLITCH! We discovered that you can only livestream from a Facebook account after you've had it for 60 days, so it was never going to happen..

Luckily my savvy daughter could switch to feed via my personal page and provide the clickable link on this page. I hope you didn't get frustrated and give up.

The link to my page is provided below and you can cross there and watch the recording immediately. We'll save it and supply the link via this page but please give us a chance to unwind etc. The first ten minutes or so is the ten minutes we promised before the event started so you can scroll ahead to find when the speakers start.

More anon. Thanks to all who attended and all who gave their heartfelt accounts of Robin in their lives.

Much love

We're finishing off the slide show tonight and hope all the tech tomorrow goes smoothly.

Open up on this page at 18h00 South African time on 8 October or afterwards for a saved recording. We'll open the "Event" for you about 10 minutes prior, while people are still arriving and settling in.

We like to imagine you'll be putting on jolly print shirts of the Robin-kind, even if you're sharing the occasion from home.

You can use Karen's email address - [email protected] for anything personal eg memories or photos or ask on this page in the Comments

We're not forgetting you.

The messages here are coming from Anne Schlebusch. I wrote the Daily Maverick article shared on Friday. I was Managing Editor for English Alive for twenty plus years and one of the Siyagruva initiators and authors. Robin was my beloved friend.

The notice below about Remembering Robin on Tuesday 8th October at 18h00 South African time gave the email address of my daughter, Karen Jeynes. She's putting together the slideshow for the Celebration. She was published in English Alive and has also been a Siyagruva author.

Jo-Anne Friedlander, who has done the design for English Alive for decades, and for all Junkets publications ditto, is putting the finishing touches to the Programme.

The MC will be Twanji Kalula, who has either assisted in editing of English Alive or edited it for over 7 years.

We'll share more about the rest of us tomorrow.

A note about Tuesday

*Robin chose the venue
* We know about some attendees. We also know about lots of people that can't make it, including many overseas friends
* We'll start sharing from this page around 10 mins beforehand. You just need to be on the page.

If you can't manage the live feed time then don't be sad. The recording will be available afterwards.

Photos are slow in coming! Don't be shy.

We don't have many of youthful Robin.

We will be sharing some taken from Robin's page, also from Junkets and English Alive. He was an excellent curator of moments.

Please send to [email protected] before 5 October.
