Today we attended the Future of Art masterclass hosted at Artscape. The session discussed the present state of the arts sector with Marlene Le Roux, BASA and Nati.

We held dialogue and conversations on practical solutions on integrating community into the art sectors with industry players.

We saw our community and advocates at large, representing the Cape Flats and beyond. We look forward to working with Marlene and the Team at Artscape as the Cape Flats Arts Festival .

Watch this space as we create spaces of inclusion, introspection and identity.

Building Partnerships! We spent the day with the WikimediaZA team during their SA chapter meet up, spending time with Wikimedia Foundation CEO, Bernadette Meehan at the Iziko SA Museum.

We held talks around community, access, language and collaboration. Weโ€™re actively working towards not only Cape Flats cultural representation, but developing practical partnerships for community voice through global platforms like Wikimedia.

We will be working together to change how the Cape Flats is represented globally.

A big thank you to the WikimediaZA team for welcoming us a valued community voice.

Today we hosted learners from Bridgetown High, Athlone High, Delft Technical High and Hindle Road High, as part of our heritage programme under the Cape Flats Heritage Society.

Learners from the Cape Flats were invited to City Hall, to participate in an interactive workshop hosted in The Attic and the Nelson Mandela in Cape Town Legacy Exhibition, facilitated by Rebecca Smart from the City of Cape Town.

The workshop dove into the founding of Cape Town, the cityโ€™s rich history through the ages and the life and liberation of Nelson Mandela. This provides a wholistic perspective on the city we call home, and our role in its legacy. Changing the way we see ourselves and the city we contribute to, through arts and culture.

Thank you to City of Cape Town for making this possible.
