Come From Away tells the true story of what happened in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland on September 11th 2001, when the US airspace closed following the devastating events in New York City. Thirty eight passenger planes were diverted to this tiny community. Overnight, nearly 7,000 stranded people from all over the world, speaking different languages, carrying different fears, landed in a town with a population barely bigger than Coleraine.

And what did the people of Gander do?
They mobilised! They fed thousands of strangers with whatever they had. They turned schools, halls, and sports centres into temporary shelters. They sorted mountains of donations, clothes, toiletries, baby supplies, pet food. They set up phone lines so people could reach loved ones. They drove passengers anywhere they needed to go, day or night. They opened their homes, their fridges, their cars, and their hearts. They offered comfort, humour, music, and a sense of safety at a moment when the world felt frightening and uncertain.

Come From Away captures the chaos, the kindness, the laugh‑out‑loud moments, and the real life stories of what happened over those five remarkable days. It’s not a show about tragedy. It’s a show about connection, community, and the best of what people can be.

And honestly?... It feels exactly like something a wee Northern Irish town would do too ❤️

What an incredible last night at the panto ❤️
We came together on Wednesday evening, not only for laughter and joy, but in loving memory of Kerry, Guy and Rodney , who were so deeply loved and will always be remembered. We decided that it would be very fitting to use the proceeds from this show for Reach Portrush so their light continues to live on through the people and community they touched. A charity full of heart, helping a community full of heart in honour of three people whose hearts touched all of ours.
We presented Bronagh from REACH Portrush with a cheque, Teagan beautifully quoted from Alice in Wonderland:
“The secret, Alice, is to surround yourself with people who make your heart smile and it is only then that you will truely find wonderland.”
And that is exactly what this night was — hearts smiling, together, in love and remembrance.
Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of everyone involved, we are so proud to say that £3,500 was raised for Reach Portrush. A truly amazing achievement that will continue to bring hope and support to others.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, performed, volunteered, and supported us. Even in remembrance, we move forward together — with love, kindness, and hope. 💙

This year’s theme is all about Transformations, and what better story to celebrate than Alice in Wonderland—a world where everything and everyone is constantly changing!
From shrinking and growing to stepping into whole new roles, today we’re embracing the magic of transformation, imagination, and a little bit of Wonderland-style curiosity. 🌟🐇♥️

🎙️😂 Gary Po***ck Comedy — we need a word! 😂🎙️
Here is our very own comedian Zoe, telling the crowds at the Portrush Light Switch-On all about our wonderful Portrush Dame!
She had them laughing, cheering, and fully convinced…
…but we’re slightly gutted you managed to confuse her with May McFettridge! 🤣
(Don’t get us wrong — we love May — but our Dame is very much her own brand of chaos!)
And while we’re talking about star power…
Let’s not forget that Jimmy Nesbitt himself has graced the Portrush panto stage —
with a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates, and sealed with a kiss for our very own Dame! 🌹🍫💋

We set the bar very high around here. 😉

And before anyone suggests it…
No, is not our Dame this year — he’s far too handsome in shorts all year round to pull that off! 🩳😎
(But we appreciate the mental image.)

Don’t worry though — Zoe will set you straight when you come to see Alice in Wonderland – The Panto!
