Tall Paul is an Anishinaabe/Oneida Hip Hop artist enrolled in the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Born and raised in Minneapolis and having lived in small towns and on reservations too, his lyrics reflect a diverse upbringing. s a wide variety of substance and soul. In 2013 comedian Dave Chappelle recognized him for his conscious Hip Hop music and lyricism. In 2015 Tall Paul toured the US and Canada and was a standout performer in Sway Calloway’s Soundset Cypher on SiriusXM’s Sway In The Morning radio show. He has shared the stage with the likes of A Tribe Called Red, Devin the Dude, Brother Ali, Slug (of Atmosphere) and more. Thomas X: Thomas X is an Anishinaabe Hip Hop artist and enrolled member of the Red Lake Band of Ojibwe. Raised on the Red Lake Indian Reservation his whole life, Thomas’ music reflects his upbringing on the Rez, the past and present issues in Native Country, and the empowerment of his Native people. Incorporating the traditional hand drum into his music, he has created a one-of-kind style of Rap Music. His latest song and video “Rezolution” gained national recognition for its unique sound and the topics addressed in it. He was featured in the inaugural episode of “The Score,” a music documentary series produced as part of a collaboration between Vice and Apple Music. Baby Shel: Baby Shel grew up on the Red Lake Ojibwe Nation and is co-founder of Rez Rap Records. Shel’s music paints a vivid picture of his experiences living on the reservation which is complimented with his unique and explosive delivery. This past year he was named the Best New Solo Act in Minnesota by Minneapolis Star Tribune and he’s the first hip hop artist to win internationally known venue First Avenue’s, “Are You Local?” contest. GO radio also coined him to be one of the “Minnesota Hip-Hop Artists to Watch in 2016”. Shel has shared the stage with notable artists such as Brother Ali, Yelawolf, Twista, and A Tribe Called Red.
