U.S. Navy sailors spotted dolphins struggling in a fishing net, unable to swim freely. 🌊💔

Instead of simply passing by, the sailors moved closer and began carefully working to free the trapped animals.

Imagine being trapped underwater, unable to escape, while the ocean you call home becomes your prison. 💔

Imagine an animal that has roamed the ocean for decades being killed simply because someone can make money from it. 💔🌊

🚨 A MOTHER WHALE IS FIGHTING TO SURVIVE… AND HER BABY IS RIGHT BESIDE HER. 💔🐋

Imagine being trapped in a fishing net, unable to swim freely, while your baby depends on you to survive.

Lost and abandoned fishing nets, known as ghost nets, can silently turn the ocean into a deadly trap for whales, dolphins, turtles, and countless other marine animals.

The most heartbreaking part? These animals are paying the price for something they never did.

🌊 The ocean is not a trash can. And marine life should never suffer because of our carelessness.

We can make a difference by preventing fishing gear from being abandoned at sea, recovering lost nets, and supporting responsible fishing practices.

Imagine swimming freely in the ocean, only to become trapped in a fishing net left behind by humans.

Every year, lost and abandoned fishing nets—often called “ghost nets”—can continue trapping whales, dolphins, turtles, and countless other marine animals long after they have been discarded.

These animals don’t understand what happened. They struggle to break free, sometimes carrying the deadly weight of those nets for days or even longer.

💔 The ocean is their home, not a dumping ground.

Fishing provides food and livelihoods for millions of people, but abandoned nets should never become a death sentence for marine wildlife. Better disposal, net recovery, and responsible fishing practices can help prevent this suffering.

But here’s the frightening part: fishing nets lost or abandoned in the ocean can continue trapping marine animals long after they’re left behind.

These are known as ghost nets — silent dangers that can injure or kill whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and other ocean wildlife.

Imagine being one of the rescuers, watching an animal this enormous struggle and knowing that every movement matters. 💔

Even one of the ocean’s most powerful predators can become helpless when caught in abandoned fishing gear.

When fishing nets are lost or left behind in the sea, they can continue drifting with ocean currents, trapping marine animals long after the fishing activity has ended. These deadly hazards are known as GHOST NETS. 🌊

🐋 Whales, 🐬 dolphins, 🐢 sea turtles, and seals can all become victims.

Thankfully, rescuers are carefully working to remove the net and give this leopard seal a chance to swim freely again. 💙

Every day, fishing nets are used to catch fish. But when nets are lost or abandoned in the ocean, they can become a silent threat to marine life.

These are known as GHOST NETS — fishing nets that continue trapping marine animals long after they’ve been left behind.

🐢 Sea turtles can become entangled.
🐬 Dolphins can get trapped.
🐋 Even whales can suffer or die because of discarded fishing gear.

And the heartbreaking truth? These nets can keep harming marine life without anyone even knowing they’re there.
