🖌️Artists of the Week🎨
This week KAS artists enjoyed a 2 day workshop with Christchurch artist Maxine Burney.

Many of the artists were taken out of their comfort zone.. learning the techniques of creating abstract artworks in acrylic with palette knives.
New learning opportunities are offered to KAS members several times per year and most of our Gallery artists participated...so they are all our Gallery Artist of the week.

Artist of the Week
🖌️ ANNE LOUISE CIEL🎨

Anne Louise has a distinctive painting style developed through her vast art experience and her love of colour and light. She paints mostly in oils, layering the colours and textures and allowing negative space to become the focus of her work. She describes her work as abstract modernism.
Sculpture is another art form Anne Louise has worked in. We have one of her beautiful sculptures on display in our Gallery.

2 DAY ART WORKSHOP IN KAIKOURA:
ACRYLICS & PALETTE KNIFE

The Kaikoura Art Society is pleased to offer the two remaining places on this workshop to the public.

We have arranged for Maxine Burney, a professional artist to lead this workshop.

WHEN: Tuesday 23 June 12.30 - 4pm; and
Wednesday 24 June 9.30am - 3.30pm
WHERE: Takahanga Bowling Club
COST: $130

Artist of the Week
🖌️Nancy McPherson 🎨

We welcome a new member to our Gallery. Nancy enjoys working with fabric and has found a new love painting in water colour and acrylic.
Combining her painting with her love of embroidery and quilting has produced lovely results as can be seen in her fabric panels.
Nancy has her Kaikoura earthquake quilt displayed in the right window as you enter the Gallery building.

🖌️Artist of the Week🎨
JANE MILLTON

Jane favours painting in watercolours and has developed a loose, flowing style which is reflected in her landscape paintings.
Collage is becoming another favourite art form of hers, her bird paintings incorporate this medium and provides surprising detail and dimension on close inspection.
Jane also paints in acrylic and in soft pastels.
