I've really struggled over the last couple of years as I've tried to achieve a good likeness in portraits of real people. You just have to be a bit off in the eyes or the positioning of the nose... and you've lost it! Does anyone recognise this guy?

A change in the weather heralds the fact that Summer is coming to a close...some will be grateful for a bit of rain now. The trees and shrubs are looking forward to a good drink. I'm wondering whether the long, hot summer will contribute to some lovely Autumn colours. Here's a painting I did a while back, celebrating the colours of Autumn. There is beauty in every season.

My sketch from this morning.... I must have been in the zone.... as I found out this afternoon that it is World Lion Day 2026 today! (I wouldnt have posted it otherwise) Have done a similar one before but upped the detail.
