What is the Shim Sham? 🤔
Often referred to as the “Tap Dance (Inter)National Anthem”, the Shim Sham Shimmy is a piece of history passed down for nearly 100 years. Originally a last-minute routine created by Leonard Reed and Willie Bryant for the Whitman Sisters show in 1920s Chicago, it has evolved into a global tradition of welcoming everyone to join together in dancing the Shim Sham at the end of any major tap event.

We want to say a massive thank you to all the students, faculty, friends and family who came out to support the first Bondi Tap Festival. The vibes in the studio were electric and the jam on Friday was unforgettable. We are overwhelmed with love and admiration for our community and can’t wait to see you all again in the future.

Tracey Wilson is in the house, 2 Kazu classes, OG tap dog Ben Read takes us through our paces. Full track participants will be surfing and then we all get down for an end of the week wrap party at Oxford Art Factory - what a day!!!!! Daily schedule for Friday the 16th is here.
