On top of the awesome Galloping Ghost visit last week, I also got to check out some Round1 locations in the Chicago area, which included several new games and *finally* getting to try the nearly-complete build of the Resident Evil 2 arcade game at the location test!

I’m surprised the location test is still going after a year, but the game has been updated several times since when it first appeared, adding multiple stages, and the game was an absolute blast to play. Can’t wait until the full release, which seems to still be due out this year.

Aside from RE2, I also got to try the non-VR version of Godzilla Kaiju Wars, the 4-player version of ON TARGET, and another awesome light gun game called Kaiju Rampage from a few years ago. All of these were super fun and I’m glad I finally got to check them out. Round 1 continues to impress with their frequent updating of game selection and quality.

Made a long-overdue trip back to one of the biggest destinations of arcade games in the US for the first time since moving to the West coast 6 years ago; Galloping Ghost Arcade in the Chicago area. Got to play and check out so many rare light gun games, but unfortunately a few were down for maintenance at the moment. I can spend all day in here and still be finding new games to check out after all these years. Definitely stop by if you end up anywhere near the Chicago area

Got to spend some time with the new John Wick Continental Pursuit light gun game this week, which is exclusively at Dave & Buster's arcades at the moment. This one has a moving seat with fans for a more immersive experience and full aluminum slide recoil guns, with the whole game taking place in a car.

Some pretty simple but fun shooting with off-screen reloading and several scenes that reminded me of moments from Virtua Cop, this was was really fun and it’s nice to see the genre still getting new experiences, as always.

Go check this one out if there’s a D&B location near you!

Had a great time this past weekend playing some new arrival gun games at Round1 called On Target and Marksman!

On Target is a mechanical style light gun game with physical targets where you need to use the scope to have pinpoint accuracy, and it feels really close to shooting a real r***e, especially with the pneumatic recoil in the gun. I had to play this several times and it never stopped being fun. Absolutely check this one out when you can.

Marksman is a big machine with two vertical monitors and some great gameplay with 11 different modes to play, and the guns have some Time Crisis-style slide recoil that adds to the immersion. There's shooting ranges, zombie attacks, bottle breaking, and more with very accurate guns. I had to play this one several times as well, and the game will let you play through more than one of the stages on one credit if you do well enough in the first stage, which is an awesome feature.

Trying out 2 new gun games at Round1 arcade! These were both really...

Had a ton of awesome arcade adventures today, with possibly the most light gun machines I’ve ever seen in just one day 🤯 Lots of old favorites I haven’t seen in years plus a handful I’ve never seen in person before. It’s great to see the genre still alive and kicking out in the wild 🔫
