I was given this fabulous frame by a former co-worker, but never had the appropriate art for it until I painted this piece of Monet's Giverny pond. (It's based on photos I took there!) "Le Printemps à Giverny" is a 40 x 30 inch casein on panel painting completed late 2025. I think the fancy frame works well here–what do you think?

The 2025 Placer Artists Tour has officially begun! My space in the Carnegie Library (Branches at the Carnegie) is more spacious than my home studio, so I've brought out the big stuff. 125 Almond St., Auburn, CA. Tour number 49.

My painting, “Lunchtime at the Abbotsbury Swannery” recently won a “Bold Award” in the Bold Expressions Show at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center. Opening reception is this Saturday 5-8PM at 5330 Gibbons Dr., Carmichael, CA.

I just couldn't resist painting this one. It's from a photo I took at the Abbotsbury Swannery in England last year, and it's very close to the actual photo reference. It was unusual for a swan to be alone like this, as there are typically hundreds of swans everywhere at the Swannery. 24x36 inches; casein on cradled panel. I don't have a title yet...

It's my last day as an Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center. This place is simply an amazing, creativity-infused place to live at for a month. I'm a little sad to be leaving, but I have soo much reference for future paintings!

I'm doing my third stint at the Mendocino Art Center! I have an efficiency apartment and a nice airy studio for a month. And it's about a 5 minute walk to the coast!

This 40x30 inch casein on panel painting is titled "Lunchtime at the Abbotsbury Swannery". It depicts feeding time at the Swannery in Dorset, England–the world's only managed colony of Mute Swans. It dates back to the Benedictine Monks who kept a "Swanherd" for food possibly as early as the year 1100.
