Happy Mother’s Day everyone! (I mean everyone too, whether mothers or not). Here’s an illustration that I did for my mum, but it’s perfect for all of you that - like me - haven’t been able to see your loved ones today. Virtual hugs can be great too! And keep us going til the world is back to normal, and we can run about hugging everyone - just because! 💛📱🌼

Raising a glass for world book day! (my first as a published childrens’ illustrator). Still so chuffed to be able to say that! Ironically, if I’d already read this book, I reckon I would’ve done it quicker 🤦🏼‍♀️ Cheers to you all, hope you’ve had a good one🥂

It’s multicultural children’s book day! Here’s an illustration I did for ‘Reach for the stars, Dear Girl’ - it’s so important that books reflect a beautifully diverse mix of people as much as possible 💛 And also - a bit of girl power never misses the mark! Whoop! 💪

The weekend’s almost here! And then it’s official - we made it through Jan! Whoop! 🙌🥳 This illustration I did for one of our birthday cards seems very appropriate!

“Our house is on fire” - Greta Thunberg . “We must act now” - David Attenborough. They certainly know what they’re talking about - climate change is real. Devastating bushfires have now killed over a billion animals in Australia. A BILLION. And so so many more are now struggling to survive. Want to help? Give whatever you can to charities supporting wildlife and communities affected. We just donated to WIRES to help with their amazing work - and there are so many other fabulous charities too. But don’t stop there, listen to Greta and David, we all need to work together to combat global warming and save our lovely planet. I did this illustration, just to try and raise awareness that little bit more - like so many of you, it’s something we’re so passionate about. This post isn’t meant to make you sad, just to remind you that there’s still time to save the world - let’s do it together! If that’s not a Friday feeling then I don’t know what is!💪💛 🌍🔥

💛🙌!!! What a lovely parcel to unwrap! The official copy of Reach For the Stars, Dear Girl - from (who is for the record, the best author in the world - so what a team we make!). Finally made it through a hectic January to the first post of 2020, and didn’t ever get round to doing a Top 9 🤦🏼‍♀️ but this is one of the huge ones! 2019 - Illustrated first book - check ✅👌 Here’s to 2020 - so reach for the stars lovely people ✨ For a boost of self-belief and motivation, this is just the book, for girls of ANY age. And it’s available on Amazon now. Fran’s words are inspiring, beautiful and ever-so-true. And you get to flick through my illustrations too 😊)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Xmas! Seems two minutes since I illustrated this, ready for a batch of Xmas cards to be printed, and now it’s Boxing Day already!.. if your day’s anything like ours, it’s time to chill with family, play with presents, eat plenty of cheese, and go on a lovely long walk. It’s a wonderfully written, motivational, inspirational rhyming book, encouraging girls to be proud to be themselves, dream big and go for it. The Sebecca story

We're the Leeds-based design & illustration company - SEBECCA. Founded by us, Seb and Rebecca Sabene.

We believe in bringing joy to the world through great design & illustration. Our ambition is to inspire others to be joyful so that they, in turn, can bring joy to the world. We bring to you our collection of cards and gifts, so that you can share some of this joy with your favourite people.

Lovers of beautiful things, we aspire to work that is beautiful, original and fun. Of course there's more to life than material things, but if they bring a bit of happiness, then it proves they're worth it. And in today’s world, I thik you’ll agree that we all need it! If something as small as an illustration hanging on the wall or a unique bottle opener can bring a smile to someone's face, then we want to help do that (and we hope that you do too!)

Why Sebecca?

Our company name was first created when we, Seb and Rebecca, were planning to get married (yep - to each other!) - and we were aptly christened SEBECCA by Rebecca's ever-amusing sister. And it stuck. Like, really stuck. So it seemed the only name for the business we founded shortly after.

We wanted to build a company that brings joy to people, and built on our experiences in the design industry. And as big gift and card givers ourselves, and knowing how hard it is to track the perfect ones down, we knew we wanted to share our very own collection with you. Voila - SEBECCA was born.

Seb had already started building a collection of uniquely designed gifts and homewares; and in addition to evenings spent designing together, Rebecca had been illustrating cards for as long as she could hold a pencil. Sebecca combines both of these things - the perfect place to go for those special occasions, when you need to track down that perfect gift or card, or even a truly personalised illustration.

At the end of 2018, SEBECCA upped sticks and moved north from London to Leeds, our new home. Shortly after, there was an addition to the team - Bowie - our feisty little pup, studio assistant, and loyal guardian of SEBECCA HQ. And it's here in Leeds that work on the new collection began to take shape - all available on www.sebeccadesign.com. And our first card collection is off being printed as we speak and will be available any day now, our forst products are in stock - and Rebecca is completing illustrations for a wonderful picture book by Fran Grant too, which should be available before Xmas. It’s all go for Sebecca!

So there you have it. This is us to the current day.
