New exhibition starting in Blackwater Valley Makers on 12th January

Tables of Life is a socially engaged art project centred on community, shared experience, and everyday life. No matter who we are or how different our lives may be, we all have a table of some kind around which life happens. At these tables we eat, talk, work, argue, celebrate, sit quietly and dream up ideas. Each table carries marks of use and memory, holding the stories of the people who gather there. By focusing on something so ordinary and familiar, the project points to a simple truth, despite our differences, we are connected through this shared part of daily life.

This exhibition is a starting point for conversation, reflection, and participation. Tables of Life continues beyond the gallery and grows through the involvement of others. Everyone is invited to take part by sharing their own table and the life that unfolds around it. No knowledge of art is needed, only your experience. Through ongoing contribution, the project builds a collective sense of community, shaped by many voices and many tables.
