Busy Rascals Busy Rascals is a fun, friendly and relaxed community Stay & Play group. There are healthy snacks and engaging activities for ages 0-5.

Group is back tomorrow Wednesday September 2nd, 10-11.30am. .

Come and join us for some socialisation. The group is for babies, toddlers or preschoolers. We have a quiet baby area, healthy snacks and a wide variety of toys for all ages including puzzles and books.

Alongside all the usual toys each week we will choose from a dedicated gardening, baking, sensory or arts and crafts activity for busy hands!

Tomorrow we'll kickstart the new term with something sensory.

What a lovely final summer session we enjoyed last Wednesday. We had lots of outdoor play chasing cars down the ramp, with a yummy celebratory picnic and the nature colour hunt to finish.

Want to continue socialising over summer?

One of the group attendees suggested keeping in touch over the holidays with a WhatsApp group. Please let me know if you'd like to be added, it will be messages about what people are up to and if anyone would like to join etc? Come and join us for the final session of the summer tomorrow! 😎

The weather is predicted to be around 20c tomorrow at 10am so we are going to open up the garden doors. We will let the children enjoy the vegetable and flower garden with a nature colour hunt and some outdoor toys in the shade. We have the usual healthy snacks which are welcomed to be enjoyed alfresco on a picnic blanket 'Teddy Bear's picnic style' !

See attached some photos from last weeks potato pulling session organised by the Ruspidge Memorial Hall community gardener Nicky. The children put them in the ground earlier this year and were able to dig them up to take them home for dinner! They were so worth the wait!

Hello! I hope everyone is keeping well during the heat wave 😎.

Group is still on tomorrow, the expected temperature is 22-24c during the group. We are going to put our sun hats on and suncream and enjoy the shady spots in the Ruspidge Memorial Hall garden and keep the side door open for air flow.

There is some potato picking and pea popping to be done. As always we will have our toys and healthy snacks.

Hello!! Group is back on tomorrow at 10- 11.30am .
We have a special visit from the FoD Baby Bank, plus all the usual healthy snacks, toys and socialising.

We have some work to do in the garden if any mini gardeners are keen? The New Potatoes can be harvested and taken home for tea along with any peas. Any remaining plants can be fed to the womery!

🚫❌⚠️😎☀️🔥 GROUP CANCELLED (Wed 24th June) 🚫❌⚠️😎☀️🔥

Hello everyone! Unfortunately due to the Red Weather Alert we have decided to cancel Busy Rascals tomorrow.

There is no A/C in the hall nor windows to open. The door needs to stay shut to keep the children safe so we have come to the conclusion that it is safer to cancel.

We are really disappointed as The Forest of Dean Baby Bank were due to join us tomorrrow but feel it's the safest decision.

The FoD Baby Bank have kindly re-arranged to come next Wednesday 1st July instead :-) .

Scavenger Nature Hunt!

We had so much fun yesterday spending time outside in the wonderful Ruspidge Memorial Hall garden. The children were so engaged with the nature hunt and even got to try the peas we'd grown!

If you find yourself at a loose end on a Wednesday morning 10-11.30am feel free to drop by. We are a very friendly laid back group. There is plenty of opportunity for carers and children to socialise. We have healthy snacks and lots of toys and activities. Age range is 0-5's.

The group will be running until the summer holidays this year due to baby number 2's arrival in July.

Hello!

Just a quick post to show you all the fun that has been going on at group over the last few weeks and to outline more of the fun to come!

We enjoyed a really fun pizza making session before the holidays. The children adored getting stuck-in to making the sauce, adding the cheese and choosing the toppings all resulting in tasty and creative combinations for the group to share!

I am in my 37th week of pregnancy and was so touched to have a little surprise baby shower party with the group last Wednesday. It included lots of lovely feasting and celebrating and gorgeous gifts. Thank you so much!

Coming up over the next few weeks:

17th June: Bug hunt and explore in the garden. We have a work sheet to help the children identify and tick off insets and all the usual exciting stuff in the garden to explore. The peas that we have been growing are ready to harvest and taste, all are welcome to partake!

24th June: A visit from The FoD Baby Bank. They are able to bring a small supply of goods to distribute but are also here to spread the word and deliver or take orders for potential items of need for parents and carers. So do have a think if you have any requests and get in touch with me.
