I started writing this song last year, the year we lost my dad. But couldn't finish it for many reasons. But this year I did. It's my first Christmas song. It's not cheery or festive. Because the holidays aren't always the most wonderful time of the year. Especially for those who have lost someone, (or something, or somewhere) two-legged and four-legged, alike, near and dear. So this is for you. For us.
This video is a tribute to those we lost this year and in years past. I wrote the song for my dad, Renato. But it's also in remembrance of recent personal losses. Aurora Fermin, Brent Shuckhart, Tony Fitzpatrick, Joe Ely, and Doni Van Beek – you are remembered and missed.
