Cedar Valley Community Theatre Bringing our community together through affordable, high-quality theatre!

Cedar Valley Community Theatre inspires artistic growth and showcases local talent in Cedar City and rural Iron County. The Cedar Valley Community Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in January 2012. We organized the theatre to bring together students, children, adults and people from a variety of backgrounds in the Cedar City area, and to provide a vibrant theatre culture for all community members throughout the year.

Hundreds of hours of hard work. Countless memories. And theater magic!

As we head into our final three performances, we want to take a moment to celebrate the person who brought this entire production to life, our incredible director, Shelley Porter.

Shelley had a vision for this show from the very beginning. She assembled an amazing creative team, cast an incredible group of performers, and spent months encouraging us, challenging us, and believing in us every step of the way. Her kind heart, keen eye for storytelling, and support have made this experience one we'll never forget.

Thank you for designing something truly special. Thank you for being our biggest cheerleader. And thank you for sharing your gifts with our community. We love you, Shelley ❤️!!!

The Sound of Music, by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, follows Maria, a spirited young postulant who becomes governess to the seven children of a widowed naval captain in 1938 Austria. Through music, she restores warmth and joy to the family, and love begins to bloom. When the N***s annex Austria, they must make a courageous escape to Switzerland.

Featuring unforgettable songs like “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” and “The Sound of Music.”
