I am a retired civil engineer turned self-taught artist, seamlessly blends the precision of engineering with the free-flowing creativity of art. My entire life I have been surrounded by the rich artistic expressions of both his mother and grandmother, I discovered my passion for painting later in life, drawn to a diverse array of styles including abstract, landscape, and nature studies. Influences
My artistic journey is deeply rooted in my familial heritage. Both my mother and grandmother who were both accomplished artists, instilling in me a profound appreciation for the transformative power of visual storytelling. Their diverse styles, ranging from abstract explorations to intricate nature studies, formed the foundation upon which Terrell built his own artistic identity. Transition from Engineering to Art
After a successful career as a civil engineer, I found myself yearning for a different form of self-expression. The structured world of engineering sparked a curiosity for the boundless freedom found in art. As a self-taught artist, I have been exploring various techniques and styles, providing me with a sense of creativity that goes beyond the confines of blueprints and schematics. Current Focus and Aboriginal Influence
My current artistic focus bears the unmistakable influence of Aboriginal dot paintings. Captivated by the ancient art form's connection to spirituality and the land, I have tended to fill many of my canvases with a mesmerizing interplay of dots and color, each representing a moment, a story, or a memory. This unique integration of precision and abstraction is a great example of how I blend my engineering background with the organic beauty of art.
