Little 24x30cm experiment that turned out quite promising. Now i want to try this in a larger size.

Quick sketch of yesterday at the end of a long day and recon of the Noordwijk area. Was tired but decided to try a quick sketch anyway.

Started off great but ended cold and out of energy. This is fine for the setting.

Yes! Today my first (non family) collector. Happy and proud.

Went painting en plein air today. Wanted to go to Noordwijk, to recon the area a bit for the plein air event in june. But turns out the Bloemencorso-chaos hadn't left the area yet. So, Maasvlakte it was!

This is a little sketch i might use for a larger Glimmer. Curious what you think.

Been busy with a ton of 'other' stuff and needed some painting time 'for me'. So headed into the ; specifically the 'Appeltjesdijk' (Ritselaarsdijk) near Westmaas. A lovely morning, with the appletrees just awakening from wintersleep. Their gnarly bare bones still visible before the summer cloak envelopes them. Loved being out there and painting for myself!

"Tess"
24x30cm, olie op muspaneel.

Geschilderd volgens de Vlaamse methode. Dus veel glaceer lagen. En wat is dat gaaf en leerzaam om te doen: je gaat zoveel kleur leren zien! Echt super tof. En ik ben ook wel blij met het resultaat 😉

Dat was een 'volle' dag:
- vanochtend rond 9.00 vertrokken richting Voorhout en daar een rondje van 50k gefietst.
- daarna schilderijtjes opgehaald die bij de zijn ingelijst voor Art Eindhoven, aanstaand weekeind. Nog geen kaartjes? Stuur me even een DM, dan kan ik vast wat regelen.
- en toen eind vd middag nog even buiten staan schilderen. Best fris en de regen viel mee. 24x30cm olie op paneel.

Enfin, bij deze nigmaals de oproep om langs te komen aanstaand weekeind bij Art Eindhiven, in het Klokgebouw. Stuur me een DM.

Went en plein air painting today in the Hoeksewaard. Cold, damp, grey. Good exercise. And painting on an older panel over a painting that didn't work out, makes for allowing yourself to be a bit more carefree/ loose. At least that's what i hoped. Learned a lot.

'Strandtekening'
18x24cm, oil on panel

A painting that really, really, didn't want to be finished: it jumped off my easel twice today. Two-ice! What's not to hate about that. The first time I caught it in my hand, smearing part of the painting. And then I'd just about finished repairs (well, technically I had, I was making some minute improvements), when it jumped off again, trying to escape via my trousers. Another smear and more repairing... Bob Ross can get stuffed with his happy little accidents! 😉 (no dissing Bob btw)

Well, i think it's done now. Hope it dries quickly so i can get it to the framer and i can take it with me to Art Eindhoven, 7 & 8 february (Klokgebouw). Want to visit? Sign up for my newsletter (link in bio) for free tickets.
