Delighted to be part of the Watercolour Society of WA Inc’s 4th International Watercolour Exhibition at the Old Customs House, Fremantle, together with four fellow members from the Singapore Watercolour Society (SWS).

The exhibition features around 150 artworks by watercolour artists from Australia and many other countries, offering a rich and inspiring range of styles and perspectives.

I attended the opening ceremony on 11 June 2026 and greatly enjoyed the warm interactions with organisers and visitors, as well as the opportunity to share our love of watercolour across borders.

If you are in the area, do drop by to view the exhibition.

Inspired by a recent visit to Jingbian Wave Valley in Shaanxi, China. The dramatic red cliffs, rugged rock textures and vibrant green grass created a landscape I couldn't forget.

Painted from one of my own photographs and shared as a demonstration for my students.

A few photos from my recent Landscape Watercolour Workshop with Studio Haroobee School of Visual Art, back by popular demand 😊🎨

Even though I demonstrate the same piece each time, every painting turns out differently, and each has its own unique beauty. That’s the joy of watercolour!

I truly enjoyed the conversations, sharing, and creative energy throughout the session. Thank you all for the wonderful enthusiasm ❤️

Bougainvillea reminds me of quiet strength wrapped in beauty — thriving brightly even through harsh conditions.

Sharing my painting of this remarkable flower as a tribute to all who nurture, love, guide, and care for others in their own ways — mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, caregivers, mentors, and those with a mothering heart.

An afternoon of flowers, watercolours, and quiet learning at my Petals workshop with Studio Haroobee School of Visual Art on 3 May 2026.

We worked through the process step by step—starting with observing shapes and values, laying in light and dark washes, then building up colours, edges, and details.

I also did a few practice pieces beforehand, and each turned out differently—a reminder that watercolour is as much about letting go as it is about control.

Thankful for these two ladies who joined me and trusted the process. Lovely to see how each participant’s painting developed in her own way. Grateful for a meaningful session and the opportunity to share!

If you’re interested in learning watercolour in a structured yet relaxed way, I’ll be running more sessions from time to time. Feel free to reach out or keep a lookout for the next one.

In class with my students, we explored creating different compositions for the same scene of a beautiful Sakura park in Japan. This kind of exercise helps us go beyond copying what we see, and learn to make better choices in shape design, balance, and focus. It is a good way to build confidence and create paintings with more interest and impact.

Painted these lilies during Chinese New Year with my cousin.

It was such a lovely time catching up and painting together — unhurried conversations, brushes moving, colours blending.

We completed this piece in about 1.5 hours. Grateful for simple moments like this, where art and family come together.

Wishing you good health, abundance, and joy, with this e-greeting featuring my horse painting.
