The title of the work already indicates that with her minimalist paper sculptures Jutta Steudle is setting impulses that go far beyond a contemporary redetermination of classical sculpture by means of the fragile material paper. Recalcitrant technique is paired with a gentle impression. The artist folds paper webs that she has previously painted with thick varnish on both sides, the kinks simultaneously damaging and perfecting. Her works „…emerge from an intuitively guided creative process and accordingly do not only want to be seen, they also want to be felt." (Alexa Becker in the catalog " Steudle Works 2018-2020," 2021, p. 2)
