Life can change in an instant.

A sudden diagnosis. The loss of someone you love. An unexpected illness. A job loss. In a moment, life can look completely different than you imagined—and leave you wondering where hope can be found.

Today’s storytellers, Ashley and Pete Jones from our Fairhope, Alabama community, know what it’s like to have life change without warning.

After Pete was suddenly diagnosed with autoimmune limbic encephalitis—a rare condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy brain cells—they found themselves on a long and uncertain road to recovery.

Through the fear, suffering, and unknowns, Ashley and Pete experienced the power of persistent prayer and the presence of God in profound ways. And looking back, they can see how He was at work even in the darkest moments, bringing purpose from their pain.

Their story is a powerful reminder: God never wastes our pain. He is present in our suffering, and He can use even the hardest parts of our stories for His glory. Listen to their story > storytellerslive.org/podcasts/god-never-wastes-your-pain-ashley-pete-jones

Nashville is a city known for stories. But some of the most powerful ones aren’t being told from a stage or by someone with a platform—they’re being lived out every day by women right here in our community. 🤍

Each woman on our Nashville StoryTellers Live team found her way to this ministry differently. Martha Jane discovered STL while walking through a difficult season and needing support. Rosie was introduced through a dear friend who shared her story. And after Julie shared her own story last spring, she knew she wanted to help create opportunities for more Nashville women to do the same.

Because there are so many women in our community carrying incredible stories of God’s faithfulness, redemption, and hope.

StoryTellers Live gives everyday women a place to share those stories—and gives the rest of us the opportunity to gather, listen, encourage one another, and be reminded that God is at work in ordinary lives all around us.

Has God ever called you to something that felt far beyond what you were equipped to handle?

Today’s storyteller, Jan Burcham, who also serves on our STL Auburn, Alabama community team, knows exactly what that feels like.

More than seven years ago, beloved Auburn sports announcer Rod Bramblett and his wife, Paula, were tragically killed in a car accident. As their closest friends, Jan and her husband, Andy—who co-hosted Auburn sports broadcasts alongside Rod—were named guardians of Rod and Paula’s two children.

Suddenly, Jan and Andy found themselves stepping into a role they never expected and could never have prepared for on their own.

In this deeply moving story, Jan shares how God had already gone before them—preparing the way, providing what they needed, and faithfully equipping them for what He had called them to do.

Maybe God is asking you to step into something today that feels bigger than you. Jan’s story is a beautiful reminder that you don’t have to have everything you need before you say yes.

🌿 This week’s promise: If God calls you to something, He will provide what you need and equip you to do it. Listen to Jan's story > storytellerslive.org/podcasts/god-will-provide-jan-burcham

We have a new story for our Patreon members!

Hillary Gamble, from our Homewood, Alabama community, shares how seasons of marriage struggles, infertility, financial uncertainty, and the loss of her mother taught her to bring her anger and fear honestly to God. Through it all, He transformed her striving and isolation into trust, dependence, and peace.

Be encouraged by Hillary’s reminder that we are known, cared for, and never abandoned by God.

Hard seasons have a way of challenging us to really consider what we believe to be true.

Am I actually going to follow God—or am I going to be swayed by my circumstances?

In the midst of her “12-year wilderness,” storyteller Alvie McNair came to the realization that her faith was what would sustain her. The wilderness wasn’t where God had abandoned her. It was where He was refining her, teaching her to trust Him, and asking her to live out what she said she believed.

Because faith isn’t only about what we believe when life feels steady. It’s choosing to trust God and walk in obedience when our circumstances give us every reason to question.

And as Alvie reminds us, God can redeem what happens in the wilderness. He can use even our hardest seasons to shape us, restore us, and draw us closer to Him.

If you’re walking through a wilderness of your own today, ask yourself: "What is God teaching me here—and will I trust Him enough to walk it out?" 🤍

This is exactly what we hoped would happen with "Where Hope Meets You," our new 31-day devotional. 💛

One reader recently shared:

“I just shared it with a dear friend struggling in this season, and we are going to do the devotional together! I just felt called to do it with her… It’s filling the hearts of many that need that reminder to get into Scripture and get into community with others that will point you back to Him and His Word.”

What a beautiful picture of what it looks like to walk alongside one another and continually point each other back to Jesus.

"Where Hope Meets You" is a 31-day devotional filled with real stories, Scripture, and guided reflection to remind you of God’s faithfulness and the hope we have in Him through every season.

Maybe there’s someone in your life who needs that reminder right now.

Invite a friend to go through the devotional with you. Read a day at a time, share what God is teaching you, pray for one another, and encourage each other to keep coming back to His Word.

What if the chapter you wish you could erase is the very place God is writing redemption? 🤍

Today on the podcast, we continue our "Rooted in Hope: Grounded in God’s Promises" series with Alvie McNair from our newest StoryTellers Live community in North Dallas, Texas.

Alvie shares about walking through heartbreak, divorce, and a long custody battle - a season she calls her “12-year wilderness.” Through circumstances she never would have chosen, God refined her faith, taught her to trust Him one step at a time, and showed her that He had never left her.

Her story is a beautiful reminder of this week’s promise: "God is able to redeem your story and bring purpose from what was meant for harm."

If you’re in a season where it’s hard to see what God is doing, Alvie’s story will encourage you to keep trusting. The hardest chapter doesn’t have to be the end of the story. 🌿
