Rooftop Animation is a collective of directors, designers, and innovators with a great passion for sharing their love of storytelling. A team daring to experiment with new narratives, techniques and technology, they currently focus on 2D animation and motion graphics but also try to incorporate music, VR and interactive design into their work. One of their main goals is to bring more diversity int

o the local scene and help foster an environment and channel for cultural exchange via the art of animation.


屋頂動畫室由一群熱愛講故事的創意工作者組成。

動畫室提供多種制作方案，現時主力發展 2D 動畫和動態圖像設計（motion graphics），勇於創新，跨越媒體界限，融合音樂及與觀眾互動等元素，並積極探索 VR 等新科技的創作可能。

員工S最近心情很鬰悶，前幾天去了行山，想説遠離一下煩囂，沉澱下情緒，輾轉走在西高山上，沒想到還是逃不掉要觸景傷情。

眼前是喜靈洲 - 坪洲 - 交椅洲一帶，是政府納入東大嶼人工島的填海範圍。

很遺憾地，因為種種不能控制的原因，屋頂動畫室對製作動畫電影《紅松鼠米高》的參與已全面停止。

很感謝一路走來很多支持和鼓厲過我們的海內外同業和單位，特別衷心感謝與我們一起不辭勞苦又熬更抵夜的一眾仝工，你們的熱情澎湃、你們跳脫的創作力，你們的温柔和包容，刺激到我們好想快點再投入做些有益世界的創作啊！（笑

另外要感謝水墨繪圖軟件和開發者 Nelson 長久以來的協調和信任，讓我們從學生時代起已在不同領域的創作中能一直使用 Expresii 寫意 / Moxi 墨戲 做出很多新嘗試。我們定不負眾望，在創作創新的路上走得更遠。

希望在不久的將來再帶來更多新奇好玩的東西和大家見面！

We are sorry to announce that, due to several uncontrollable factors, Rooftop Animation is no longer participating in the production of "Red Squirrel Mai", the animated feature.

We would like to express our most sincere gratitude for all the valuable support we've received from our beloved followers and friends from Hong Kong and overseas. Special thanks go to every dedicated Rooftoper for their hard work. Their passion, creativity, and love have always inspired us to push our limits, and we can't wait to dive right back into meaningful projects. Heehee!

We would also like to thank Expresii 寫意 / Moxi 墨戲 and their developer, Nelson for their trust and patience during this whole time. Our exploration with the software dates all the way back to our student years, and we aspire to never stop searching for new possibilities in combining technology with art.

We look forward to bringing more sparkling and fun projects to you all! Lots of love.

如果你有興趣參與動畫製作（不論哪個環節），認為自己足夠堅毅不屈有耐性、技術了得、思維清晰，並且有一顆娛樂大眾嘅心，就快啲 send portfolio 俾我地啦！

我地有多個 project-based 的空缺正寂寞地等著你XD
包括制作管理部、 layout 設計部、背景部、動畫部（第一原畫師、第二原畫師及動畫師）、勾線及填色部，以及有動畫製作經驗的技術支援人員。

部分職位要求有較深厚的美術基礎。
可在香港工作者優先考慮。

There are various project-based openings awaiting for you to fill in! We need Production Coordinators, Layout Artists, Background Artists, Animators, Technicians, as well as Inkers and Painters.

Some positions require solid art foundation.
Preferably able to work in Hong Kong.

So happy to be involved in the production of the Chinese ink painting inspired feature film, "Red Squirrel Mai" in collaboration with digital ink painting software Expresii 寫意 / Moxi 墨戲 and experienced animation creator Yuen Kin To as our producer. We were approached by executive producer Lo Wing Keung to carry out his vision of a story about a child's journey to find his father.

Our team is working hard to bring this film to life. We can't express enough gratitude to our talented team. We promise to provide more snacks and drinks in the office! ;)

有沒有很好奇屋頂動畫室過去的一年都在幹些什麼？
很高興和本地電腦水墨繪圖軟件 Expresii 寫意 / Moxi 墨戲 以及監製袁建滔一同參與水墨動畫長片《紅松鼠米高》的製作。這是一個小屁孩出門尋找爸爸的冒險故事，由盧永強先生出品。

山竹走了，樹木倒了。

在我們公司樓下，很多樹木都倒下了，樹葉經過一夜也變得乾枯沒有生命，一蓑蓑地頹敗下去。

有人問樹倒下了是不是就死了？為什麼都要鋸掉送到堆填區？
當然不是啊！
事實上社區裡也有很多街坊合力把大樹扶正後重新生長的例子。

今天我們去把一些已經被鋸成一截截的樹救回來，
希望這些還很溫暖的木頭可以在善良工匠手上繼續綻放。
