GODDARD de FIDDES Gallery GdeF Projects

www.gdef.com.au Goddard de Fiddes Gallery (GdeF) began in Fremantle in 1992 as project by Julian Goddard and Glenda de Fiddes.

The project was about exhibiting the work of a group of friends and colleagues. After two years GdeF moved to Perth into a modernist glass-fronted space in the CBD. In 1998 the gallery relocated to 31 Malcolm St, West Perth into a historic building purpose built for a gallery in the 1950s. After 20 years the gallery programme ceased at the end of 2011. During our time as gallerists we represented

prominent local, national and international artists. The gallery participated in ARCO, Madrid, and the Melbourne Art Fair, on a regular basis. After a much needed sabbatical, we are continuing as GdeF Projects at our house and garden in Fremantle. The house, designed in 1992 by Geoff Warn, Donaldson Warn Architects, allows for a small indoor exhibiting room and several garden spaces. The project will not represent artists or keep regular gallery hours, but will engage in projects that will attempt to fill a gap in exhibiting activity in Perth,
and give collectors and clients the opportunity to view works and meet artists in a more informal and accessible manner.
