Operator for a Day, 157 E Fair Avenue (2026)

18/07/2026

Wow, what a great year for Operator For A Day! Thank you to all of our great volunteers and sponsors for making this event possible. We want to give a special thanks to Company Wrench, Taylor Rental, Ricketts Excavating, and Lancaster Festival for providing all of the equipment and tent supplies and Berne Union Band Boosters for sending kids to help. We truly could not do this without all the help provided from the community and local businesses that send many volunteers.

Our goal is to inspire some of the kids who attended to pursue a career in the heavy equipment industry one day. We actually had a couple volunteers this year who were only kids when they attended the first Operator For A Day back in 2015. Very neat to see a full circle moment!

We hope you enjoy the photos from this year. Feel free to share any photos you may have taken in the comments. We love to see them!

Until next year!

Calling all Heavy Equipment Operators in the Central Ohio/Fairfield County area!

This is our annual non-profit event that local families look forward to every year. You’ll get to assist others with running equipment, help ensure the safety of our guests, show kids and families what being an OPERATOR is really like, and maybe even spark a young person’s interest in a career in our field. Volunteers always say it’s one of the most rewarding days of the year.
