A little glimpse behind the scenes 👀

I’m pulling together the artwork for my 2027 calendar — Land, Light & Layers.

There are still a few pieces to finish and plenty of decisions to make, but I’m loving seeing the collection come together — Banks Peninsula, layered colour, shifting light and a slightly looser direction this year 💙

There’s something about that first light across the hills. ☀️

Before the colours sharpen and the day properly begins, the Peninsula takes on these beautiful softened greens, golds and blues.

Morning Light is my interpretation of that fleeting moment — loose brushwork, quiet water and warm light moving across the land.

A calmer piece from my landscape collection and a lovely one for bringing colour into a room without shouting for attention.

When autumn turns the Peninsula up a notch. 🍂

Autumn Light, Takamatua is full of the colours I’m always chasing — acid greens, flashes of coral, deep blue-greens and that soft pink light that can completely transform the hills.

It isn’t about painting every detail exactly as it is. It’s about capturing how a place feels.

Bright, familiar and just a little bit unexpected.

Cold, windy and pretty miserable outside in Christchurch today… but I’m definitely in the right place this avo. 😊

Finishing off my Pigeon Bay painting while basking in those gorgeous little bursts of sunshine that keep breaking through the clouds and flooding the room.

And yes… my kitchen table has officially become my winter studio 🤣 The garage studio can have me back when it stops feeling like a walk-in freezer. 🎨❄️☀️

Some landscapes hold more than a view.

Where We Once Stood is about those places we return to — physically or in memory — and the way a landscape can somehow keep a piece of our story.

Soft mauves, greens, golds and deep inky marks stretch across the harbour and hills, giving this one a quieter, slightly nostalgic feeling.

The original of Where We Once Stood has sold, but it lives on as a limited-edition giclée print, available in three sizes.

Because sometimes the places that mean the most deserve to come home with us. 🤍

Moody skies. Still water. A storm rolling somewhere beyond the hills. ⛈️

Thunder Rolls is Banks Peninsula on one of those days when the sky becomes every bit as important as the landscape beneath it.

I love the contrast in this one — the soft, atmospheric harbour against the rugged rocks, dry grasses and dark folds of the hills.

A landscape with a little drama.

Pigeon Bay in progress!

After a little takeover by my looser acrylics 🤣 I’m back playing in my signature landscape style today — and really enjoying the change.

This one has had its bright acrylic base down for quite a while, quietly begging for some attention from the corner of the studio… so yay, today’s its day 😊

Still lots to layer, soften, scratch back and resolve, but I’m loving seeing Pigeon Bay start to emerge.

BEST-SELLING LANDSCAPES | The Orchard Remembers

This one has my heart. 🌸

The Orchard Remembers came from the old cherry orchards around Cooptown — rows of trees, changing seasons and all those traces of lives and stories held within a familiar landscape.

The blossoms are deliberately simplified and almost paper-like against the hills, while those dark trunks give the painting its rhythm and structure.

The original has sold, but limited-edition giclée prints remain available in three sizes.

A little celebration of spring, memory and the places that stay with us.
