Literary Forum Bandipora was founded with the noble objective of promoting literature, poetry, and literary culture in Bandipora. However, over the years, the forum appears to have limited its activities primarily to organizing programs related to Mr. Nazki Sahib. While his literary contributions are undoubtedly valuable and deserving of recognition, a literary forum cannot fulfill its broader mission by focusing almost exclusively on a single personality.
The literary heritage of Bandipora is rich and diverse, with many distinguished poets, writers, scholars, and emerging literary talents who also deserve recognition and encouragement. Unfortunately, there has been little visible effort by the forum to provide a regular platform for new writers and poets or to organize literary activities throughout the year.
A vibrant literary organization should conduct seminars, poetry sessions, book discussions, writing workshops, literary competitions, and interactions with authors on a regular basis. Such initiatives are essential for nurturing young talent and preserving the literary legacy of the region. The absence of sustained literary programming has raised concerns among literature lovers regarding the effectiveness of the forum in achieving its stated objectives.
If the Literary Forum Bandipora is to truly serve the literary community, it must broaden its vision, acknowledge the contributions of all literary figures, and actively support both established and emerging writers. Literature flourishes through inclusiveness, diversity, and continuous engagement—not through the celebration of a single individual alone.
The forum must therefore reassess its priorities and work towards becoming a genuine platform for the promotion and development of literature and poetry across Bandipora.
