Hi, I'm Evie!
I am a handweaver and maker based in Cheltenham and created Evie Designs in 2019.
I studied Textile Design at Falmouth University and learnt how to weave on the course, during which I fell in love with being able to create fabric through weaving and exploring different patterns, colour combinations, and types of yarn. The beautiful scenery of the Cornish landscapes and coastline have been an inspiration to me ever since.
I weave all my own fabrics on a hand loom using British wool and left over deadstock yarns, which prevents them from going to landfill. During this process, I am free to follow wherever my inspiration takes me, which ensures that each of my fabrics is as unique as the last. These woven fabrics are made into finished products such as scarves, cushions, or purses which are available on my website or at local craft fairs.
To ensure that my business is as environmentally sustainable as possible, I also use any waste yarn to create hand-made cards, key rings and earrings.
