ইকোনমিক্স কালচারাল ক্লাব, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, আট বছর বয়সী শিশু রামিসার নৃশংস হত্যাকাণ্ডের ঘটনায় গভীরভাবে শোকাহত এবং ক্ষুব্ধ। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এই সাংস্কৃতিক ক্লাবের সদস্য হিসেবে আমরা এই জঘন্য ও অমানবিক সহিংস ঘটনার তীব্র নিন্দা জানাই। এটি কেবল একটি নিষ্পাপ শিশুর অকাল প্রয়াণ নয়, বরং আমাদের সমাজের নিরাপত্তা ও মর্যাদার ওপর এক চরম আঘাত।
একটি জাতিকে অনেকাংশে বিচার করা হয় তারা তাদের শিশুদের কতটা সুরক্ষা দেয় তার ওপর ভিত্তি করে। শিশুদের সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করতে ব্যর্থ হওয়াকে একটি জাতিকে মূল্যায়নের ক্ষেত্রে অন্যতম বড় নেতিবাচক দিক হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা হয়। রামিসার মৃত্যু আমাদের জাতীয় কলঙ্ক এবং আমাদের সম্মিলিত ব্যর্থতার এক জ্বলন্ত প্রমাণ। বিশেষ করে, শিকার হওয়ার পরও বিচার পেতে যে দীর্ঘসূত্রতা ও হয়রানির শিকার হতে হয়, তা আমাদের বিচারব্যবস্থার প্রতি গভীর প্রশ্ন তৈরি করেছে। শুধু রামিসা নয়, এমন অসংখ্য ঘটনা অহরহ ঘটছে যা অধিকাংশ সময় লোকচক্ষুর আড়ালে থেকে যাচ্ছে অথবা বিচারহীনতার অন্ধকারে হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে। গত কয়েক দিনেই এমন অনেকগুলো নৃশংসতার ঘটনা আমাদের সামনে এসেছে, যার মধ্যে চট্টগ্রামের চার বছর বয়সী শিশুটির ওপর পাশবিক নির্যাতনের ঘটনাটি আমাদের সমাজকে নতুন করে স্তব্ধ করে দিয়েছে। একের পর এক এমন ঘটনা সমাজের চরম অস্থিরতারই বহিঃপ্রকাশ।
আমরা আইনপ্রয়োগকারী সংস্থা এবং বিচার বিভাগের কাছে দাবি জানাই, এই মামলাটিকে সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে অত্যন্ত জরুরি ভিত্তিতে পরিচালনা করতে হবে। আমরা দ্রুত বিচার, বিচারিক কার্যক্রমে কোনো ধরনের গড়িমসি না করা এবং অপরাধীর জন্য আইনের সর্বোচ্চ শাস্তির দাবি জানাচ্ছি। শিশু নির্যাতনের ঘটনায় বিচারহীনতার সংস্কৃতি অবিলম্বে শেষ হতে হবে। কোনো ধরনের প্রশাসনিক গাফিলতির কারণে এই মামলা যেন হারিয়ে না যায়, তা নিশ্চিত করার দায়ভার রাষ্ট্রকেই নিতে হবে। এছাড়া, আমাদের পাড়া-মহল্লা ও শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে শিশুদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতে দ্রুত ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণের দাবি জানাচ্ছি, কারণ শিশুদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা একটি মৌলিক অধিকার।
ইকোনমিক্স কালচারাল ক্লাব ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সকল শিক্ষার্থী এবং দেশবাসীকে এই অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে গর্জে ওঠার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে। আমরা কোনো ফাঁপা আশ্বাসে শান্ত হব না। আমাদের কণ্ঠস্বর সোচ্চার থাকবে এবং রামিসার প্রকৃত বিচার না পাওয়া পর্যন্ত আমাদের এই প্রতিবাদ অব্যাহত থাকবে।
আমরা রামিসার জন্য বিচার চাই।
Economics Cultural Club, University of Dhaka, stands in absolute shock and fury following the brutal murder of eight-year-old Ramisa. As members of this cultural club, we vehemently condemn this heinous act of violence. This was not just the loss of an innocent child; it was a violent assault on the safety and dignity of our society.
A nation is highly judged by the protection it affords its children. It is considered as one of the biggest negative points on evaluating a nation. Ramisa’s death is a national disgrace and a stinging indictment of our collective failure. We are deeply concerned by the systemic delays and harassment victims face after such traumatic incidents, which continue to undermine faith in our judicial system. Ramisa’s case is not an isolated tragedy; it is part of a haunting pattern where countless similar crimes are either overlooked or lost in the shadows of impunity.
The recent surge in violence, including the horrific attack on a four-year-old child in Chattogram just days ago, serves as a grim reminder of the deteriorating state of safety for our children.
We demand that law enforcement agencies and the judiciary prioritize this case with absolute urgency. We insist on a swift trial, zero tolerance for systemic delays, and the imposition of the maximum penalty provided by law for the perpetrator. The era of impunity for crimes against children must end immediately. The state must take full responsibility to ensure this case does not vanish into bureaucratic apathy. Furthermore, we demand the implementation of concrete, immediate action to secure our neighborhoods and schools, as safety for our children is a fundamental right that must be enforced.
Economics Cultural Club calls upon the entire student body of the University of Dhaka and the people of this nation to rise up against this cycle of violence. We will not be pacified by empty promises. Our voices will remain loud, and our protest will remain relentless until justice is not only sought but delivered in full.
WE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR RAMISA.
