The timeline has always been the key. Esperia was destroyed 70 years ago. Rocks attacked Mary Geoise and killed a Marine Admiral 56 years later. That's a 14-year gap — long enough to build a crew, long enough to gather power, long enough to wait for the right moment.
If the Admiral present at Reuven's death and the Admiral Rocks killed at the Reverie are the same person — then Rocks' invasion of the Holy Land wasn't simply ambition. It was targeted. A man who was present at the Esperia Incident, who watched Shuri kill her father under Domi Reversi control, who stood beside the Gorosei while a kingdom burned — he went to Mary Geoise, sat among the most powerful people in the world, and died there. Because someone came specifically for him.
Rocks carried the Davy bloodline. Imu used Domi Reversi on his family at God Valley — the same technique that was used on Reuven. If Rocks connected the Admiral to both events, killing him at the Reverie wasn't random violence. It was the most personal act of the entire raid.
And then there's the design. The figure in the Esperia flashback shares strikingly similar visual DNA with Shiryu of the Rain — the build, the presence, the sword, the cigarette. If this Admiral is Shiryu's father, then the lineage writes a complete story across generations. A father who served the World Government and died at a pirate's hand. A son who became the most feared swordsman in Impel Down, now sailing with the man descended from the pirate who killed his father.
Rocks and Blackbeard. Reuven's killer and his killer's killer. The bloodlines are all still circling each other.
