Flashbacks to Jesus and his younger life are interspersed with Jesus as he is tried and crucified on the cross. We see the humanity of what Jesus might have been like as a child and see Mary’s concern and love for her child as she must watch the scene play out before her eyes. This play also shows the political strife and motivations to appease the citizens.

Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile
This historical telling of the infamous Cleopatra shows a woman who will do anything to keep her country together. Despite challenging odds and circumstances, Cleopatra incites her spiritual aid, Isis, (mother of our land, mistress of magic, eye of Ra) to assist her in making decisions to help her people. While Rome has conflicts of its own, Antony and Cleopatra work out a deal to save and assist both their countries.

This adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic involves Prospero, who uses magic to conjure a storm and torment the survivors of a shipwreck, including the King of Naples and Prospero’s treacherous brother, Antonio. Prospero’s slave, Caliban, plots to rid himself of his master, but is thwarted by Prospero’s spirit-servant Ariel (who could be played by 1-3 characters). The King’s young son Ferdinand, thought to be dead, falls in love with Prospero’s daughter Miranda, despite Prospero’s attempts to separate the two (who share a song to reveal their feelings). Their celebrations are cut short when Prospero confronts her brother and reveals her identity as the usurped Duchess of Milan. The families are reunited and all conflict is resolved. Prospero grants Ariel her freedom and prepares to leave the island.

Vampires Loki and Siggeen have broken the unspoken code and killed humans to feast on their blood. Ruling vampire Victoria does not condone their behavior. When Erik gets into a car accident, he is saved by the vampire Luna, who offers him her own blood. This creates a love triangle between Erik and his human girlfriend, Tamara. When Loki and Siggeen get a taste of Erik’s blood, they seek him as their next victim. Can Erik escape their grasp? Will Erik and Luna end up together? Can the “dark twilight” worlds co-exist?

This tale offers the backstory to Pandora notoriously opening the pithos (box) to let all of the evils of the world out. Along the way, we learn of Athena’s devious plan to get revenge on Prometheus and his brother Epimetheus. Zeus must likewise find balance between punishing humanity and teaching the two deceptive brothers a lesson. Ultimately, we know the ending to the story, but the process of getting there may be more surprising than expected, leading us to the one positive trait Pandora released: hope.

This classic tale of power and ambition, originally written by Christopher Marlowe, shows Dr. Faustus, who along with great wisdom and skill also needs more. Sensing the good doctor’s excessive pride, Satan sends Mephistopheles to serve Faustus’s desires and show him what could be. But such treasures would come with a heavy price: Faustus’s soul. Along the way, Faustus is tempted by power, riches, wealth, and the most beautiful woman in the world in Helen. In the end, Faustus learns the error of his ways, but it only comes when Satan returns to claim the soul he has worked for.

The year is 2084 in a world wrought with plagues, famine, and pain. A once great land turned into a Wasteland. The lucky perished. Those who live face The Apex Predators, a gang of marauders who kill the innocent and take what they want. Those of us who still live are named, The Last Survivors. As the gang moves from city to city, Lazarus and Echo try to free and protect those being hunted by the Predators. In the end, we learn the connections the characters have from their birth, despite their ideological differences. This play involves a great deal of stage combat that can be used.

In this adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Quasimodo must find his own independence to free himself from the control of Frodo, his master. On the way, he is aided by gargoyles who come to life to Quasimodo only. Esmerelda, whom Quasimodo falls in love with, meets a tragic fate, but the Gargoyles come to save Quasimodo in the end.

Set in the 1930’s in New Orleans. The Count, who is summoned once a year at Mardi Gras time, comes back to add to his army and ensure his eternal influence when he pursues Iris, granddaughter to Mama Magnolia. Despite the warning from the Swamp Spirits, Iris falls victim to the Count, leaving Mama Magnolia, Isadore, and Vincent to try to get Iris back. The Voodoo Spirits and the Count with his minion, however, prove to be formidable foes whose powers are difficult to overcome.
