To those who attended the Hineraumati event, thank you for your awhi!
Our face painters made $70 on the day, big ups to them for their efforts. I was really impressed with their mahi and service to the tamaariki who loved having their faces painted with our Whangaroa kaitiaki.
We learnt a lot on the day with the realisation that face painting is a service we could offer as a paid initiative for our tuakana artists eg Market stalls, Christmas events, birthday parties etc.
Talking to our face painters after the days event, we decided to spend the money on a Toi Mauri fun day on Sunday the 14th of Dec at Whangaroa. With pizza from the Gamefish, swimming off the wharf and some live art on the green from 11 to 3. We will set up a gazebo for extra shade and some camping chairs to relax and chill.
We had also talked about face painting at the Totara North market, but they already have a face painter attending so instead we will spend the day at Whangaroa.
Please let me know if your tamaariki are available to attend our day on the harbour.
