Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the talented Elena Larriba!

A Spanish-Australian artist based in Melbourne, Elena creates tactile ceramic, drawing and installation works exploring repair, transformation, memory and embodied connection.

Here’s what Elena had to say about the role art plays in her life:

“Making art slows me down and brings me back into my body. Working with clay allows me to transform difficult experiences into something tangible, hold uncertainty and find meaning through making. Art creates moments of focus, curiosity and connection, reminding me that fragility and strength can exist together.”

Thank you, Elena, for sharing such a thoughtful reflection with us. Your practice beautifully reminds us that art can create space to slow down, sit with uncertainty and find strength in the delicate, imperfect parts of being human. We’re honoured to have your meaningful work featured in this year’s Hold The Line Art Show.

Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the award-winning Alistair Fowler!

An award-winning Victorian artist, Alistair creates captivating works inspired by nature, identity and belonging, weaving sculpture, ceramics and painting into powerful visual stories.

Here’s what Alistair had to say about the role art plays in his life:

“For nearly 10 years, I was harassed by a serious stalker to the point of not wanting to leave my house. It wasn’t until my dear late sister encouraged me to share my art publicly that I truly started to heal. My art has since travelled the world, bringing joy to others.”

Thank you, Alistair, for sharing such a deeply personal and powerful story with us. Your journey is a moving reminder of how creativity, courage and encouragement from those we love can help us begin to heal. We’re honoured to have your inspiring work featured in this year’s Hold The Line Art Show.

Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the fabulous Vena Cava (Kara)!

A pop culture enthusiast, Kara transforms her love of cosplay, LEGO®, art and 2000s nostalgia into vibrant, joy-filled creative expression.

Here’s what Kara had to say about the role art plays in her life:

“Mental health is very important to me, especially as someone who deals with anxiety daily. Art is a way to celebrate my interests, a creative outlet and a welcome distraction from those struggles. It also allows me to embrace and celebrate my emo/goth identity through the pieces I create.”

Thank you, Kara, for sharing your story with us. Your art is a wonderful celebration of individuality, self-expression and finding strength in the things that bring us joy. We’re so excited to have your vibrant and unmistakably unique work featured in this year’s Hold The Line Art Show.

Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the talented JC!

A Melbourne-based artist, JC explores cultural and sexual identity through powerful contemporary works, with exhibitions across Australia and features in British Vogue.

Here’s what JC had to say about the role art plays in his life:

“Personally, art has been a tool I’ve used to understand myself, explore my feelings and find meaning. This catharsis has inspired me to pursue a career as an art therapist as I feel that the act of creation can be a valuable tool for healing.”

Thank you, JC, for sharing your thoughtful perspective with us. Your work is a powerful reminder that creativity can deepen our understanding of ourselves while fostering healing, empathy and connection with others. Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the incredible Zephyr!

A Melbourne-based mobile maker, Zephyr creates mesmerising kinetic sculptures that transform movement into meditation, inviting wonder, calm and moments of quiet reflection.

Here’s what Zephyr had to say about the role art plays in his life:

“A few years ago, I was sinking, having panic attacks, not sleeping and a fist in my chest pushing so hard I couldn’t breathe. With my doctor’s help, anti-anxiety medication, and my art, I have been able to bring back a sense of balance to my life. My mobiles give me a practice that brings me calm and meditation, but also great joy and satisfaction.”

Thank you, Zephyr, for sharing such an honest and inspiring journey with us. Your beautiful moving sculptures remind us that creativity can restore balance, bring moments of peace, and help carry us through life’s most challenging times. We’re honoured to have your remarkable work featured in this year’s Hold The Line Art Show.

Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the wonderful Felicity Burman!

A highly respected ceramic artist, Felicity creates expressive sculptural works inspired by nature, resilience and storytelling, brought to life through vibrant glazes.

Here’s what Felicity had to say about the role art plays in her life:

“As a trauma survivor diagnosed with CPTSD, I am no longer able to work in a full-time mainstream professional setting. My art practice is incredibly healing and helpful, as well as providing a modest income. Working with clay connects me with my body, grounds and resets my nervous system. Artistic expression and my visual language communicate emotions and tell stories which also heal and bring me happiness and joy.”

Thank you, Felicity, for sharing such a deeply personal and courageous reflection with us. Your work is a powerful testament to the healing nature of creativity and the strength that can be found through artistic expression. We’re honoured to have your beautiful ceramics featured in this year’s Hold The Line Art Show.

Our next artist featured in the Hold The Line Art Show is the incredible CREATUR!

Sydney artist Daniel Muscat creates bold, vibrant creatures celebrating identity, transformation and self-acceptance through imaginative worlds filled with colour and hope.

Here’s what CREATUR had to say about the role art plays in his life:

“Art helps me explore parts of myself that are difficult to explain with words. It allows me to visually express my ideas, emotions, and thoughts while escaping into different worlds. Creating helps me reconnect with myself and enter my Creaturverse, a place where imagination, identity, and emotion can exist together freely.”

Thank you, CREATUR, for sharing your inspiring perspective with us. Your colourful Creaturverse is a powerful reminder that creativity can help us better understand ourselves, embrace who we are, and imagine new possibilities.
