I realized that the more energy I spent failing to come up with new earring designs, the less time I had for other projects and designs that I actually wanted to do. I tried to hold on to the very product that helped launch my business, but the spark never fully came back.

Mealea Collection isn't closing, only the era that started it all. So, this is my final sale...as a goodbye and big thank you to my supporters, I'm going to bring back a select few sold out popular designs for one last time. Which designs do you want to see? Let me know in the comments!!

Centering authenticity is so important to your branding. Everyday, I'm inspired by the different small businesses and artists I follow from across the country and around the world who show up authentically, creating unique designs/art that are true to their story and values. I admire businesses who can continue reinventing the wheel and offer products that are so distinctively their own 💗

It's sad that in a world where creatives have to worry about Temu, Shein, and AI stealing their work, we also have to worry about those in our community and on social media doing it too. This is the unfortunate side of sharing your work online, realizing that there are people on the sidelines with negative intentions who feel like everything is a competition when it's actually not.

While social media is a public space, that is not an open call to take another person's hard work. My Krama Vest for example wasn't made overnight. I collaborated with Rajana Threads on this design over the course of several months and sought inspiration from my own research and my own experiences. The design is personal TO ME.

The Khmer community talks a lot about the crabs in the bucket mentality and I wish we can say we've risen above that. There are still people out there who feel threatened, jealous, and entitled - feelings that I'm not responsible for and will not entertain.

I agree that there is more than enough room for all of us, but not for those who lack integrity and build their businesses off of other people's original ideas. Copyright infringement is a choice and a bad look. You really wanna be that person?

My Mealea Vest design is made from cotton krama and honestly feels like a warm hug 🥹 I love that it can be worn with different pieces in your closet and styled in a number of fun ways. I also intentionally chose a variety of colors for those who like a little pop of color and those who lean more neutral. There's a color for everyone! 🤩
