Two weeks ago, we had the privilege of presenting an Honor and Remember flag to Daryl, in memory of her husband, Ted Van Horn, who died in 2024.

Ted served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1970. After his military service, he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and went on to teach for more than 30 years in Norfolk and Virginia Beach schools. He also shared his love of music by teaching and playing drums for nearly 40 years with TP&D, where he and Daryl met.

With the Virginia Run for the Fallen taking place this weekend, moments like this remind us why it’s so important to honor and remember the lives and legacies of those who served.

Special thanks to Chris C., a fellow Marine veteran, for coordinating this meaningful tribute. 🇺🇸
