‘Pain that lasts a lifetime…’
Friday January 24th 2025 sees the release of the next Devils and Icons single.
The follow up to the debut ‘I Am The Gun’ will be titled ‘GODLIKE’, and will be accompanied by a concept music video and full digital release.
Says Scott Knowles -
“‘Godlike’ is a song that I am very proud of. I wrote this completely off the back of the debut single, it didn’t even exist before September 2024. I wanted to create something off the vibe that releasing the debut gave me. It was exciting, and a hugely powerful feeling of connecting once again with something that I love doing - creating music. Inbetween my awesome addition as bassist in Damnation’s Hammer, and our Autumn ‘24 tour with Xentrix, I have been working on ‘Godlike’. Tim Preston has been writing incredible new material for Damnation’s Hammer, and that inspired me to push my songwriting further.
The song continues the theme of mental health struggles, and the general theme of Godlike is powerful, dark, intrusive thoughts that can often infiltrate our minds without warning, and can leave us feeling vulnerable, helpless, terrified and completely powerless. It’s almost like the feeling is completely overpowering, huge and Godlike - never ending, and taking an enormous amount of strength to overcome when they are at their worst. I’m thrilled to be releasing this single in January, and I can’t wait for people to hear it…”
2025 will see Devils and Icons gain momentum with the recent inclusion of the band to HRH X 18 festival in Great Yarmouth, UK in November 2025.
This will be preceded by a third single, the full length album in late summer, and a series of warm up shows before the festival takes place. Live band members will be announced in due course.
‘Godlike’ will be released on Friday 24th January 2025 at 12pm on all digital platforms with a video premiere over on the official Devils and Icons #Youtube page.
