Disclosure DISCLOSURE is a new interdisciplinary work created and performed by Studio 58 graduate Katherine Matlashewski, and directed by Jane Heyman.

Disclosure will be performed at the Vancouver Fringe Festival in September 2022.

Tristen Foy is a theatre artist from Winnipeg and now based in Vancouver. He is a graduate of the Studio 58 Acting Program with a diploma in Theatre Arts. Before Studio 58 Tristen studied acting at both the University of Winnipeg and University of Alberta. Tristen’s so excited to be stepping out into the real world after many long years of schooling and hopes to further develop as a playwright and director in addition to acting in theatre, film, television, voice acting, and any other creative projects he might find his way into. Tristen is honoured to be a part of Disclosure. Studio 58 acting credits include FAMILY CHRISTMAS (SIX OF ONE), THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, EVERYBODY, CERULEAN BLUE, A LIFE SENTENCE (FOURPLAY), and THE WAX IN HIS WINGS (RISKY NIGHTS). ✨Voice Actor✨

Ivy hails from Winnipeg, MB- Treaty 1 Territory, homeland of the Metis Nation. She is now based in Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples- Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations. Select theatre credits include: Orlando (RMTC), Beautiful Man (Pi Theatre), East Van Panto: Pinocchio (Theatre Replacements), Urinetown, Antony and Cleopatra and Cabaret (Studio 58). She graduated from Studio 58’s theatre program as the Covid crisis began in April 2020. Ivy was the Head Coordinator of the Diversity Committee 2019/2020 and Head Facilitator 2018/2019. Ivy was awarded the Hnatyshyn Developing Artists Grant (English Theatre) 2019. Ivy is honoured to be part of this production!

Raquel is a theatre/ film artist and creator originally from Surrey British Columbia, on the traditional and stolen land of the Semiahmoo First Nations People and now resides in “Vancouver” British Columbia. Raquel started her career in performing arts as a teenager and trained with Arts Umbrellas Junior/ Senior theatre troupes and also did their Young Directors program alongside Paul Moniz de Sa. She has now completed her Studies in the acting program at Studio 58 and is continuing to explore and grow artistically as an actor, director and writer. ✨Producer✨

Natasha is an actor, producer, playwright and theatre arts educator living on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Natasha is a graduate of the BFA Acting Program at UBC, and recently completed the Block A program with Playwrights Theatre Centre in Spring 2022. She also holds a Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University, and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. Let’s shed some light on our designers....

Keagan "Kiki" Elrick (They/She)

✨Lighting Designer✨

Keagan is a Studio 58 Graduate. Living with a love of and passion for lighting. As a gender-fluid non- binary designer they love working with masculine, feminine and other aspects of themselves to add to the creative process. As a designer they paint the performers and their environments with light, working to build an atmosphere that pulls the audience in.

Recent design credits include: Kill the Ripper (Geekenders & Affair of Honor), Circus Gala (Circus3), Crisis on Planet Z ( Monster Theatre), Six of One (Studio 58), Neverland Night Circus (Geekenders), Trans Scripts (Zee Zee & Frank Theatre), Alice in Glitterland (Geekenders), Centurions (The Centurions Project), Awkward Hug (O Albatross), Four Play (Studio 58), and Alma (East Van Opera), They love playing with the emotions of lights, and how lighting effects the tone and reality of what is being poured on stage. Playing with the psychology of lighting and colour theory.

Erik Gow (He/Him)

✨Audio and Recording Designer✨

Erik is a Vancouver Actor, Playwright, Composer, and Educator who lives and practices on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territories of the Squamish, Selilwitulh, and Musqueam nations.

He has been active in the Vancouver theatre and film community for the past ten years, and is a graduate of Studio 58.

When not performing, Erik a senior teaching artist for Arts Umbrella, Bard on the Beach, and The Shadbolt Arts Centre, and is a co-founder of the videography company Booklight Media.

As an emerging playwright and composer he has composed several TYA shows for Axis Theatre, Beach House Theatre, two original musicals for Studio 58, and has sound designed and composed for other companies in the Lower Mainland. As a playwright Erik has developed plays with ZeeZee Theatre, The Arts Club, and has been produced at the Metro Theatre. Currently Erik is developing two new exciting shows with Axis Theatre.

Caroline is an emerging theatre artist originally from Ottawa Ontario, the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation. As a recent graduate of Studio 58, she is grateful for the opportunity to have learned and worked on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and TsleilWaututh Nations. Caroline is excited to be working on Discolsure with her fellow artists and looks forward to sharing the show with you! Her recent credits include Stage Manager and Lighting Designer for SEETHERED (rEvolver Festival) Stage Manager for The Code (Green Thumb Theatre) Stage Manager for Everybody (Studio 58), and Assistant Lighting Designer for Cerulean Blue (Studio 58). Up next, Caroline will be working as a lighting technician in Dubai.

Katherine Matlashewski (She/Her)

✨Playwright/Actor/Co-Producer✨

Katherine is an emerging interdisciplinary artist and a graduate of Studio 58. Based in Vancouver, BC, she is grateful to live, work, and create on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Prior to attending Studio 58, Katherine developed a strong foundation in musical theatre while training with Arts Umbrella’s Pre Professional Musical Theatre Troupe and Arts Club’s Senior Musical Theatre Intensive. Katherine is a proud recipient of the Lloyd Nicholson Memorial Scholarship (2022) and the Cheryl Hutcherson Memorial Award (2021). She also enjoys sharing her love of the Arts with youth as an instructor at CTYP and Arts Umbrella!

Katherine is thrilled to be working with such a fantastic team of artists and for the opportunity to present Disclosure at the 2022 Vancouver Fringe Festival!

✨Assistant Director✨

Agnes is thrilled to be assistant directing with Jane Heyman on this production of DISCLOSURE. This is her first foray into directing and is honoured to learn from such a master.

Agnes grew up dancing competitively in Ottawa, Ontario and worked as a professional dancer for a few years before moving out West to attend Studio 58 theatre school. Since graduating, Agnes has appeared on stages all over Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and across Canada.

Some of her favourite tv credits include: Under Wraps (Disney+), The Good Doctor (ABC), Charmed (CW), and The Romeo Section (CBC). You can catch her next in the upcoming comedy thriller series Ellen soon to be released on Amazon Prime and the new videogame 1000xResist! coming out February 2023.

Jane Heyman (She/Her)

✨Director✨

Jane has worked in professional theatre in Canada and England as director, dramaturge, actor, and teacher. Throughout her career, she’s developed new plays, mentored young artists and created opportunities for women, including co-founding the Women in VIEW Festival, and facilitating the Wet Ink Collective’s workshops for women writers.

For 20 years, she was Associate Director, , the renowned professional theatre training program at Langara College where she taught acting. In 2001, she co-founded (with Joy Coghill) Vancouver’s Performing Arts Lodge ( ) providing affordable housing for pioneer performing artists.

She’s directed 70+ productions including Stupid Boy in an Ugly Town (Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg Fringe); Road to Mecca; Homechild (Arts Club), Three Sisters (Only Child Collective); As You Like It; King Lear (Studio 58) Nominated for three Jessie Richardson awards, she received Best Director in 1991.

Creating theatre with this talented group of emerging artists despite the pandemic is thrilling!

We are thrilled to announce DISCLOSURE at Vancouver Fringe - September 8th-18th, 2022.

Inspired by a true story, Disclosure is a new interdisciplinary work created and performed by Studio 58 graduate Katherine Matlashewski, and directed by Jane Heyman. Through movement, spoken word, soundscape, and humour, Disclosure explores the struggles of a survivor searching for pathways toward healing in an adversarial medical system.
