What A Waste…
This is an acrylic portrait illustrating the impact smart phones have on today’s society. Technology and AI cocoon the individual and destroy original thinking, precious time, self-love, passion, socialization, and more.
The paint strokes evolve from smooth realism, to blurred pixelisation as a metaphor for people living life through a screen and not seeing the beauty of the world around them.
The frame is wood effect; physically representing the natural world surrounding the artificial world within the smart phone further illustrating this divide.

So proud to have my final piece for Adv Level 3 Year 2 Art and Design on display at Kettering Arts Centre!

My multimedia piece focuses on the theme of Predator – Prey, showcasing pencil realism portraits of a Royal Python hunting an African Brown Rat. The 3D elements of the snake were sculpted with earthenware clay, which I hand textured and coloured. This piece is circular in shape to represent the circle of life, meaning that hunting and survival is a continuous loop.
Predators (especially snakes) are commonly portrayed as evil in books, films, tv shows etc, however this depiction is unrealistic and unfair. Reptiles are beautiful and extremely intelligent creatures with unique hunting techniques and survival instincts. On the same note, prey aren’t small and weak, but rather bright with heightened senses and reflexes.

A digital drawing i created on procreate, based on a palindromic sentence. Palindromic meaning that the sentence reads the same backwards as forwards!

Realism group dog portrait pencil drawing completed for Kieran Oughton ❤️ this took around a total of 8 hours to complete. I used white acrylic paint to exaggerate highlights in the eyes and on the noses.
