Hey, I’m Josh.
Dad. Christian. Husband. Musician. Creative Operations Director at Prow Media
I’ve played Glastonbury three times, the British Grand Prix, performed over 2,000 gigs, supported headline acts in front of thousands of people, been runner-up in a UK-wide songwriting competition, reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, and I’m proud to call Cornwall home while currently working in Newquay.
I’ve been fortunate enough to perform all over the world for well over a decade and, along the way, I’ve met some incredible people in some incredible places.
I’m also an ambassador for Pentreath, Cornwall’s largest mental health charity, and I’m involved in several other projects that I’m genuinely passionate about.
For over two years I co-hosted an amazing breakfast show on Cornwall’s Rewind Radio, where I made some lifelong friends and memories I’ll always be grateful for.
One thing I can honestly say about myself is this…
I’ve never, ever stood on someone else to elevate myself.
It’s probably the thing I’m most proud of.
Camp Curnow Records started as nothing more than a dream.
The dream was simple…
“What if someone gave opportunities, guidance, connections, belief and support to the people who simply couldn’t afford it?”
Because the truth is, this world often runs on two things:
Who you know.
And what you can afford.
So here’s what I’d like to do.
I want you to nominate someone.
Someone talented.
Someone hardworking.
Someone who genuinely wants it.
No contracts.
No hidden agenda.
No money.
Just my time, my effort, my experience, my connections and the facilities I have access to.
When I was younger, I prayed for someone to take me under their wing.
Instead, I was offered confidential sexual favours, told to take drugs to prove I could be trusted, and even offered a contract with one of the world’s biggest organisations in the music industry in exchange for a sum of money I could never realistically repay. That’s how people end up being owned.
I’m not saying I’ve had it harder than anyone else.
Far from it.
Life is hard for everyone.
We just get to choose our hard.
But I do know this…
Temptation, manipulation, persuasion and NDAs are everywhere in the entertainment industry, and I’d love to be someone who helps people navigate those incredibly tempting but potentially life-changing situations.
Don’t get me wrong…
I wouldn’t be where I am without my parents.
My wife is the reason I’m still breathing.
And my children are the reason I want to give something back.
So this is me offering my hand to someone who genuinely wants it.
