My heart is breaking watching what's happening in the US. I also know that these systems have been operating for a long time against black and brown people, lgbtqia folks, indigenous tribes, and women and children. But here it is, glaring and pompous violence. There is no ceasefire in G∆za, the police can't help you, and laws don't matter. We are the only ones who can keep each other safe.
What does this have to do with improv? Who fu***ng knows. Nothing. Everything. To be playful in a community is essential. It is spiritual. It is vulnerable human connection and storytelling. It is joy when joy is hard to find. Put your money into community if you have the choice, and keep it out of corporations that will not only spend your money to kill people, but who also don't really mind if you die. Tidy your corner, protect your neighbours, find self sufficiency when possible.
Sending love to everyone who is living in fear, and to those who are finding it hard to function in such a sick society. A better world is possible. Keep playing, creating and connecting ❤️
