Harper and Lily are Capital T Trouble. I have been told by a reliable source that they steal things. All kinds of things, with like zero remorse. Can you believe it?! Are they innocent until proven guilty by a jury of their peers? Can kittens even be assigned jury duty so they’d get a fair trial? I am asking the important questions here, people! Hard hitting journalism.

ANYWAY, this is the final painting for . What a project! I’m eternally grateful for the chance to paint her charges.

A few days ago, I set Brownson’s portrait aside halfway through because it wasn’t working. The moment I prioritized a different painting, he’s like “Nah, that’s not how it is.” And he was right. This is how it is. Some projects (and def some cats) are just assertive like that. Thanks for commissioning a painting of your boy!

(Also, I love a shimmery black cat in the sun.)

This paper is really unforgiving in terms of corrections and layering but I like it anyway. I’ve scrapped a bunch of sheets so far in learning, but I think this little guy who won’t be finished is still really cute.

A new series - watercolor(ish) paintings on handmade paper! Commission info further down. This little friend is a alum and I fell in love with his little face so he got to go first. I always hope that using photos from rescues benefits them with the tag/mention.

The “ish” because while some of it looks like a watercolor technique, I’m pretty chaotic and will use anything at hand if it does what I want.

Commissions for these will be $32 including US postage. The 4x6” paper is thick, almost cotton-y and has beautiful deckled edges. I’d like to stick with the theme of super expressive, almost caricature-ish faces here, though I’d also love to paint scenes of cats in their environments too.

Shimmery shiny ✨Artemis✨ could push every single thing off the counter and I’d pick it all up for him to do it again. I can’t believe someone just left this guy somewhere to fend for himself. With those eyes!?! Thank goodness for people like , she gave him the loving home he deserves.

These were the final photos for my submission to the Pet Portrait Contest. Wish I could have included the ones of the sides because I feel like they’re important to the finished painting, but I can totally see how having 37 pictures of every entrant’s painting would be overwhelming in terms of time and bandwidth so I get it lol.
