If you’re new here, my name is Haley and this is what I do!
I’ve been making these T-shirt blankets for seven years now. At first it was a little hobby because I know my way around a sewing machine and a friend asked me for a favor, then a few more friends and family members got some great birthday gifts. It eventually turned into a steady business that allowed me to quit my full time job and stay home with my newborn son and still contribute financially to my family.
This is so much more than just a side hustle to me. You may think when you drop off your t-shirts, I see you handing me a bag of fabric. But in reality -
I see a bag of memories made and good times shared and the life you’ve chosen and built for yourself.
I see 18 years of school shirts from field trips, clubs, and class activities that will become a blanket you take to your first college dorm.
I see a bag of jerseys, ranging from child sizes to adult sizes, from a sport you poured your heart and soul into your whole life.
I see clothes left behind from someone you love dearly and I envision the finished blanket as a warm hug from that person you’ve already hugged for the last time.
I see the t-shirts you’ve collected from charity runs, fitness competitions, gym memberships and without knowing you personally, I admire how committed you are to your wellness.
I see the concerts you’ve been to, the states and countries you’ve traveled to, the sports games and events you’ve attended and think wow, they’ve had so much fun.
I see all those pink t-shirts that you no longer wear to your chemo appointments because you beat cancer, and I am SO happy for you.
I see your children’s t-shirts, and in those I see my own child’s t-shirts outgrown sitting in a box in his closet that in a few years I’ll also cut up and sew together.
I don’t want those sacred memories packed in a box in your attic. I want them out where you can see and remember and cherish and use in daily life. These t-shirts hold more than just threads and seams, and that is as important to me as it is to you.
I would love to make this happen for you, with all the love and care I would put into it as if it were my own.
