The result of 6 months creativity and dedication. Not dedication to months on end working hard, but to working on this work with passion. To push through when the WOW THIS ROCKS is followed by "I hope I don't ruin it".

this artwork seemed to be more than just a painting (well.. it always is isn't it?). But it became a reflection of my fight with my identity and the wish to wear that identity with pride.

I have been working on this work with both passion and joy, by following the Artists WY (Want to know more about this method and what it did for me? to follow this journey in YouTube and follow for my portfolio.

Rearrangement of the thoughts: creating stories, getting to know myself, figuring out what is important, finding blocks, setting goals, throw out the dirt... Keeps the mind sane!

I arrived at week 9 of the artists way. So it's time to look back at the past 2 months, and a lot has changed! It has become crystal clear that when there is room for art I experience calm and fulfillment, and when there is not I am stressed and anxious. But what comes first?

YES! HAPPY FACE BECAUSE I WAS SHORTLISTED!!

I'm so honoured to be shortlisted by Fida for the fashion illustration and drawing awards 2023. It is honouring because my work is next to work of artists that are SO good in quality, originality and material freedom. But also honouring because the impressive list of judges from the fashion field. For example: judges including Carolyn Massey (senior fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger), Rebecca Mason (SVP of brand image at Tom Ford and Sara Sozzani (Vogue Italia) 🤯.

And so cool that this work made it! I think it is not the most conventional image from the fashion industry because of the body type (unfortunately still) and composition. So I was insecure if it would fit the awards at all, very delighted it did. 😊

In 2020 I participated too and made it to the long list, so it is already huge to have improved into the short list. I love being a part of this, I follow FIDA's every step!

Happy face! I got the honouring message that I was selected among the best in industry in the category "excellence in fashion illustration & art" for the Fida awards!

Fida is a platform that I have seen growing in the past years, putting fashion illustration as an artform form on the map. The fashion industry has an immense impact on our sociocultural and socioeconomic world. And the art is where it starts.

I do identify with this artform, as it is all about (re-)creating identities but also: criticizing them. Visually it is all bout colours, textures and composition. I am always discovering these elements and identities (of myself?).

So long story short: very very honoured to be part of this list among the other very best of the industry!

Day 50/84: I write, about everything and anything as I do writing exercises. On Sunday I reflect in the week. It goes further than just reflecting on my art, I look back on the past and dream about the future. After multiple hours of reflection my brain is usually squeezed!

And even though it is tiring, I love these days where I am turning my life around. It is not until a few days after the effect shows. But after 7 weeks the trust came that it is worth it.

But to be honest, when the artists way is over I am going to enjoy some chill lazy Sundays 😄

... and she decided that if she was cursed to be unlovable anyways, she might as well fearlessly teach them lessons. Those mentorship she only give by taking hatred. Oh poor Beelzebub, whose bad behaviours are mistaken by a crooked nature.
