This is one of my absolute favorite parts of The Creator’s Exchange.
Sometimes there’s a project with instructions, and sometimes I just give someone options and see where their imagination takes them.
Today, one of my former students came in to create. She looked at what we had available and came up with her own framed garden. No example to copy. No rules. Just supplies, an idea, and her creativity.
And seriously… look at what she made! 😍 I was so impressed.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough to make my teacher heart happy, another former student stopped in just to visit and chat for a little while. 🥹❤️
Getting to see two former students in one day: one sitting at our table creating and another coming through the door just to say hi: was pretty special.
I spent so many years being part of my students’ lives as their teacher, and now some of them are getting to be part of this new chapter with me.
I felt incredibly blessed today. ❤️
And that framed garden? This is exactly why I love giving people choices instead of always giving them directions. Sometimes the things they imagine are so much better than anything I could have planned.

Sometimes a shop day means homework help! 📚✏️
Today we traded paintbrushes for pencils for a little while. From reading practice to working through assignments, sometimes The Creator’s Exchange becomes a homework spot too. 💙
As a credentialed teacher, I love getting the chance to sit down with our younger creators and help them work through something, build confidence, and get that homework DONE. And sometimes the older kids even jump in to help too. 🥰
Because creating comes in a lot of different forms—and learning is definitely one of them!
📚 Homework help is available for elementary students in English and Spanish, with additional grade levels coming soon.
