🚨 Violent Motorcycle Dispute Rocks River Gee as Dozens Arrested

River Gee County Joint Security has arrested more than a dozen motorcyclists and seized nine motorcycles following a violent confrontation between riders from Fish Town and Gbeapo-Kanweaken.

Police Commander ACP Theophilus Toe Togba said several riders were injured during the Tuesday night clash, reportedly linked to a leadership dispute within the motorcyclists’ union.

Authorities have launched an investigation and are searching for additional suspects. County officials have urged residents and motorcyclists to remain calm as tensions remain high.

LNP Charges Teddy David with Negligent Homicide in Death of Grace Tenwah

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has charged Teddy David with Negligent Homicide in connection with the death of Grace Tenwah, whose severely injured and unconscious body was reportedly found near her residence in the Shoe Factory Community.

According to police, the incident occurred on July 27, 2026, along Pipeline Road while David was transporting Tenwah in a tricycle. Investigators allege that Tenwah fell from the moving tricycle and suffered a serious head injury.

Police said David took her to several medical facilities but, after she was reportedly referred to larger hospitals, he allegedly returned her to her community and left her near her residence while she remained unconscious.

The LNP alleges that David failed to ensure she received the necessary medical attention and did not confirm whether she was still alive.

David was arrested on August 3, 2026, and has been charged under Liberia’s New Penal Law.

David has not been convicted and remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.

No Registration Fees for Public Schools, Minister Jallah Warns Against Hidden Charges

Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah has announced that children enrolling in public schools from Kindergarten through Grade 6 will not pay registration fees for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing, Jallah said the policy is aimed at removing financial barriers to basic education.

She warned school administrators against replacing registration fees with unauthorized charges, saying the Ministry will deploy 160 monitoring and evaluation interns nationwide to ensure compliance.

The Minister also reminded schools that they must obtain proper authorization from the Ministry of Education before operating.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to report any public school demanding registration fees for Kindergarten through Grade 6.

Boakai Warns Officials: “Liberians Want Results, Not Excuses”

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has challenged government ministries and agencies to deliver tangible results, warning that Liberians will not accept excuses for poor performance.

Speaking at the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) National Steering Committee Meeting in Monrovia, President Boakai stressed the need for accountability, transparency, timely reporting, and responsible management of national resources.

He urged public officials to accept criticism, correct their mistakes, and ensure that appointments and promotions are based on performance and merit.

“Liberians are not going to forgive you for the excuses,” Boakai warned.

The President also called on the private sector, civil society, media, and international partners to work with government to address poverty, create jobs, improve education, strengthen public services, and accelerate Liberia’s development.

He further directed ministries and agencies to submit timely and accurate reports, describing repeated delays and inconsistencies as unacceptable.

Moses Kollie Makes Another Government Comeback

Former Lofa County Representative and ex-head of the Liberia Aviation Authority, Moses Y. Kollie, has reportedly resurfaced in government.

Kollie, once a close ally of former President George Weah, was previously a vocal critic of President Joseph Boakai. However, after Boakai assumed office, Kollie changed his tone, began praising the president, and renewed his criticism of Weah.

Now, with another government appointment reportedly on the way, the big question is: Is Moses Kollie back in the government game again? 😄
