The workshop focuses on the interactions and clashes of energy flows that can be expressed through the body. Based on the fusion of Western contemporary dance movements and low-centered Asian physicality, the properties of water — its circularity, tenderness, and fluidity — will be the main study of the workshop.

Taiji and other martial arts techniques, such as circular strength, softness, relaxation, and internal momentum, will also be introduced during the workshop, leading the spine into continuous wave-like motions resembling vivid calligraphy.

✨ Về nghệ sĩ của chúng tôi: Chi Nguyễn

Chi Nguyễn xuất thân là diễn viên múa cổ điển, người mở rộng tư duy sáng tạo khi học tập và làm việc từ Việt Nam sang châu Âu. Cô từng cộng tác với nhiều biên đạo quốc tế tại các Liên hoan Múa ở Đức, Bắc Kinh, Hà Nội, Sài Gòn.

Sau thời gian gắn bó với Arabesque Dance Company, Chi tốt nghiệp Trường Múa Đương Đại Iwanson (Đức) năm 2020 và bắt đầu sự nghiệp biên đạo, hướng tới một nghệ thuật chuyển động đầy năng lượng sáng tạo và đổi mới.

Các thành tựu nổi bật:
- 2025: Giải thưởng Giảng viên Xuất sắc tại cuộc thi múa quốc tế Prix d’Europe

✨ About our artist: Chi Nguyen

Chi Nguyen, originally trained as a classical dancer, expanded her creative vision through studies and work from Vietnam to Europe. She has collaborated with renowned choreographers at international dance festivals in Germany, Beijing, Hanoi, and Saigon.

After her time with Arabesque Dance Company, Chi graduated from the Iwanson
International School of Contemporary Dance (Germany) in 2020 and began her career as a choreographer, pursuing an art of movement full of youthful energy, creativity, and innovation.

- 2025: Best Instructor Award at the International Dance Competition Prix d’Europe
-2024: Choreographer of the Gold Award–winning solo (Modern Dance) at the 5th Traditional
Arts Elite Cup APHC (Hong Kong)

Với mong muốn đồng hành và tạo điều kiện cho các thực nghiệm nghệ thuật được nảy nở, sự cộng tác này mở ra một không gian nơi nghệ thuật thị giác và chuyển động có thể gặp nhau và gợi mở những khả thể mới.

Ở điểm giao nhau giữa KOAF và VAC, thực hành của Florian và Sébastien trở thành một câu hỏi lớn về sự hiện diện: làm sao một nét vẽ, một dáng hình, hay chỉ một nhịp thở có thể lay động không gian? Và nghệ thuật liệu có thể trở thành nơi các loại hình không chỉ đứng cạnh nhau, mà còn lắng nghe, đối thoại và chuyển hoá lẫn nhau?

Đối thoại với Mở Xưởng “Anh Mã và Ấn Tích của Loài Rắn” của Florian tại VAC, phần trình diễn của Sébastien mở ra một lối đi sống giữa tác phẩm và những lớp lang ký ức, huyền thoại, và thế giới tưởng tượng nơi nuôi dưỡng chúng.

Qua chuyển động, Sébastien làm vọng lại các đường nét chạy suốt không gian trưng bày của Florian, cũng như những hình tượng huyền thoại nâng đỡ thực hành của anh. Khán giả sẽ được nghe hai văn bản Florian viết, cùng những đoạn trích từ câu chuyện riêng của Sébastien, hiện có trên kênh YouTube “Les Légendes de Monsieur Ly”.

Cơ thể trở thành nơi huyền thoại tìm chỗ trú, trong một hành trình chậm rãi, chính xác, nơi thơ ca hoá thành nhịp nối giữa cái thấy và cái chưa thể thấy, giữa phòng triển lãm và những cảnh quan bên trong mỗi người.
Đó là một cuộc dạo qua ký ức, nơi chuyển động để lại một vệt sáng mong manh, hé lộ điều chỉ tồn tại trong chốc lát trước khi tan vào không gian.

𝑳𝒂̆́𝒏𝒈 𝑵𝒈𝒉𝒆 Đ𝒊𝒆̂̉𝒎 𝑪𝒉𝒂̣𝒎 is a contemporary dance piece featuring both Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing and hearing dancers. This performance is part of the Lang Nghe Diem Cham program, which won the Best Project award at Inspiring Vietnam 2025.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒚’𝒔 𝑵𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 is a contemporary dance work that premiered at the Avignon Off Festival 2024 – one of the world's most prestigious arts festivals.

And both were 🔥 completely sold out 🔥 at their respective premieres!

About Krossing Over Arts Festival

Krossing Over Arts Festival first started in 2017 by choreographer Sébastien Ly with tremendous support from the French Institute in Vietnam and Kerman featuring interdisciplinary performances at various locations in Ho Chi Minh City. The Festival is all about intersections: between contemporary dance and other art forms; between local and international artistic approaches; and between the public and artists. Each performance will be presented at different locations, therefore the experience will vary every time.

About Kerman

Kerman is the name of a city in Iran precisely halfway between Hue, Vietnam and Saint-Aygulf, France. Kerman brings to life the projects of the choreographer Sébastien Ly: on-stage performances; site-specific experiences; and short films. Each project has at its heart a dialogue between dance and various arts (literature, visual arts, photography, video, music). Founded and led by Sébastien Ly, Krossing Over Arts Festival has been dedicated to promoting contemporary dance in Vietnam ever since.
