Tomorrow night is your sign to text the friend that you keep saying you need to make plans with! 💕

We’re hosting 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 & 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 at the Arts Hub – a feel good jewellery making night for adults! With colourful beads 🩵 drinks 🍸 and everything you need to make your own bracelets, necklace or accessory ✨

Come with your bestie (or mom or sister or yourself), choose your beads, have a drink or two, make something cute and enjoy a creative evening that will definitely be more fun than scrolling on your sofa 🤭💖

Please join us in welcoming Evelyn to the Arts Hub 💜✨

Born and raised in Boston, Evelyn has been visiting Tortola every year since she was a child, so the BVI has always felt like a second home to her 🌴

She studied Design and Marketing at university in the US and has already become such a big part of the Creative Waves family, helping assist with art classes at the Arts Hub, bringing fresh creative ideas and energy to the team, while also supporting lots of the behind the scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly.

If you’ve been to a class recently, there’s a good chance you’ve already met her! 👋

Tomorrow night (Tuesday 12th) at the Arts Hub…. it’s the opening party and you’re invited! 🌟 framed works on paper, shadow boxes, bags, collage and for this show only… wild hanging installations you have to see for yourselves! 🍸🍋‍🟩

A couple of weekends ago, we hosted one of our most gorgeous workshops yet! 🪴🎨🥥🌿 We spent the evening at PlantWise in Great Mountain, surrounded by Tortola’s tropical greenery, herbs, birdsong, paint, conversation and so many lovely people fully getting stuck into the process of creating 💕

The evening was led by the lovely Sarah Graham and we had a really interesting discussion around the medicinal properties and traditional uses of local herbs from Jamal Bradshaw, as well as delicioussss ital canapés and coconuts 😋

It was wholesome from start to finish!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came along to this special art class, we had such a beautiful evening and hope you did too 🌿💖

Reminder that Saturday kids art class for just $15 is on tomorrow!

Mr Esau Andrews - one of the BVI’s most celebrated artists and the talent behind the incredible flamingo mural at the hospital - is teaching the class and he is very excited to be inspiring the younger generation.

Bird Fest on Saturday was just WONDERFUL! 🐦💙 From the morning talks and conversations, to the photography showcase, to the children sat around the table making bird crafts in the afternoon… the whole day was full of curiosity about the birds we share these islands with! 🇻🇬

Those who showed up were birders, photographers, artists, families, children, people who simply love nature.. It was really special seeing so many different interests and generations all in one space because of a shared appreciation for birds.

We loved hearing stories about the sightings across the BVI and seeing the incredible photographs people have captured over the years. And, watching the children create their own colourful bird-inspired masks and artworks to take home! 🎭🦩🎨

A huge thank you to everyone who came, shared, taught, photographed, crafted and helped make Bird Fest awesome. And thank you to everyone who continues to care about and protect the wildlife and environment around us.

We already want to do another one!! ✨

For the past month, something very exciting and very special has been happening inside the Arts Hub... Please join us in congratulating Walden Benjamin , our first 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 ! 🌟

Earlier this year, Walden held his exhibition at the Arts Hub, generously supported by Conyers . We’re so grateful for their support, which helped give Walden’s work a platform, place it in front of new audiences and open the door to an incredible commission opportunity with Moskito Island !

For the past month, Walden has been working from the Arts Hub every day, bringing this commission to life with so much focus, passion and dedication. If you’ve popped in recently, you might have even seen him in full flow!

Having Walden here with us has been an absolute joy. His creativity, kind nature and incredible work ethic have brought so much to the Arts Hub every day, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him as our first Artist in Residence.

A huge thank you also goes to RiteWay , who became our first patron to support an artist sabbatical. Their support has allowed Walden the time and freedom to take on this major project and fully dedicate himself to the opportunity.

Congratulations Walden.. what a special milestone, and what an honour to be part of this chapter in your creative career 💫

Introducing… The Art Lab! A brand new FREE monthly art class for teens! 🎨🤩

We’ve absolutely loved having high school students join our Wednesday After School Arts Club, so we’re really happy to now offer something made especially for teens from across the Territory.

The class is free to attend, but booking is required so we can prepare materials and make sure everyone has a place to create ‼️ (book a place on our website)

A huge THANK YOU to Campbells Law Firm, whose commitment to community development and generous support has made it possible for us to offer these sessions free of charge 💙
