After a week of going in circles with work, home, and tending to Mom it seemed like the best art to produce today would be a few abstracts. Let loose and let the paint flow.
I visited a yard sale years ago in the mountain's and this lady gave me several plastic bags of these small round pieces of vintage material that must have been planned for a quilt. Finally pulled them out and was thinking what I could create with them. Remember the Oil Cloth table Clothes your Mom used for outdoor dinning? I found a product but Martha Stewart and decided to see how it works and it did. I coated them on both sides and let them dry. Oh they really felt great and were so glossy, made the colors on the material pop. I decided to sew some small coin purses and they turned out pretty good and can be wiped out if they get yucky!
Studio time is good for the soul. Just me and a Geisha in my thoughts.

Saturday was a success! ZDAC had lots of bids on the artwork that the Boys and Girls Club of Zebulon created! They will be excited about all the funds we raised for them to buy more arts supplies! I was the lucky bidder on this awesome piece of art by Alexa and it now proudly hangs on my art studio wall!
I've used Paper Clay to create these figures and loved that you can air dry instead of baking or using a Kiln. Learning to make facial features takes practice although their kinda wonky looks are funny. Still need to paint some more details but wanted to share with ya'll.
The Three Ladies of Coventry!
Had a blast at the The Rusted Hinge Marketplace in Zebulon last night!! Got to spent time crafting in our great community and met some wonderful folks! The 2nd Saturday of every month from 6-8.
Had some fun today trying out some dot painting. Still drying and you can see the white charcoal marker lines that I tried to follow in the background. Oh maybe you can spot the one I put my arm in! LOL
She's been hiding for to many years it was time to rescue her. Mom will have a new painting for her room.
This is Gage he's my buddy and my daughter Stephanie's baby. She commissioned the talented Gaёlla Materne, Timeless Visions LLC, to create this beautiful pencil drawing. We are in awe of her talent and captured his beautiful face perfectly!
Gage has been delivered! What a joy it was to portray him, I am honored ☺️ 8x10 colored pencil. Thank you Stephanie Sartain
Came home inspired by after visiting Mom. Many layers of colors to add and lot's of stories to be told.

Thank you all for coming out and supporting the ZDAC (Zebulon Downtown Art's Council) booth yesterday we had so much fun and were so happy to meet and welcome all our new and old friends in our community. The whole event was awesome and I want to give a special shout out to the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce it takes a lot of work and dedication to pull these events off and you did it! The variety of vendors and their amazing handcrafted and professional products were fabulous. Looking forward to the new year and seeing our ZDAC grow!
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving and want to let you know how much I appreciate the support you have given me and my little Rocky Cross Studio page. Lot's of new adventures in art are coming soon! Sending hugs and love to you all.
Mary Ann and Lillian have a new home with Susan Pearce. They just love each other and plan on having many more years of friendship!

This new technique pouring paint has been so crazy ... I have poured paint on my shirt, shorts, shoes, floor, leaned into it oh and splashed it on my face. But I can tell you it is so much fun to do. Figuring out what colors to combine can challenge your mind but in the end it all turns out awesome. Video's coming soon so stay tuned you will want to try this!
There's been a bit of quiet time in the studio lately but sometimes you need to relax! Now we are on a roll trying out some new techniques! Here are a few pics, a video is in the works on how you can create these yourself.
