Our road trips and adventures to the Wild West have taken us through saguaro forests with giant cactus as far as the eye could see. Down lonely desert highways blazing a trail to reach our cabin before sundown and also to some pretty spectacular homes full of amazing & unique accessories. It’s these trips that inspired us to bring you the cacti, pots, art and accessories that we hope you’ll love as much as we do!

We decided to stretch our legs with a stroll along a very long desert road in Landers, California. Perfect weather, blue skies, warm sunshine and Joshua trees keeping us company. The only problem with walking in the desert is that everything looks just around the corner, except there aren’t any corners! We walked, chatted, admired the scenery and eventually realised we’d have to walk all the way back. Not a bad problem to have when you’re surrounded by this much desert beauty. And the best part? Hardly another soul in sight. Just how we like it!

What a day! We left San Diego and headed over the mountains towards Palm Springs, enjoying some spectacular scenery and enough twists and turns to keep us wide awake! Stopped for a delicious lunch at Chef Tanya’s Kitchen before heading back up into the high desert to our incredible house surrounded by Joshua trees. Kerry and I are already wondering if we can just move in permanently! And then came our first sunset, with the sky turning beautiful shades of pink, orange and gold, and those wonderful Joshua trees standing proudly all around us. Coffee in hand, desert silence and not a neighbour in sight. I think we might have found our little slice of paradise! Sleep tight folks.

We managed to squeeze in a little wander around our San Diego neighbourhood before darkness took over, admiring the beautiful houses, colourful gardens and incredible mix of architecture. Every corner seemed to have something worth stopping for, from towering palms, cacti and tropical plants to quirky little homes bursting with character. Our kind of evening stroll, although we probably spent more time peering into gardens than actually walking!

Our pink cactus print has found a new home in sunny San Diego! We’re actually here at the moment, which makes this sale even more special. Somewhere nearby, our little pink cactus is getting ready to brighten up a new wall. We hope it brings plenty of colour, desert sunshine and a few smiles along the way. Not a bad place for a cactus to put down roots!

Our little cactus garden in San Diego is looking beautiful, even with a storm rolling in. The sky is getting darker, the wind is picking up and all those wonderful desert plants are about to get a proper soaking. Not quite the sunny California morning we had in mind, but there’s something rather magical about watching a storm arrive surrounded by cactus and tropical plants.

Our road trip adventure begins in beautiful San Diego, and what better way to start the day than breakfast in the garden, surrounded by gorgeous ginger plants and colourful birds of paradise. Coffee in hand, the California sunshine warming our faces, and tropical plants everywhere we look. We could quite happily sit here all morning, listening to the birds and admiring the garden.

Wandering around Hackberry General Store on Route 66 with Kerry is our idea of a perfect afternoon. Rusty old cars, faded signs, vintage petrol pumps and enough Americana to keep us entertained for hours. Every time we turned a corner, we spotted something else worth photographing. Kerry was admiring all the wonderful old signs while I was getting distracted by another rusty car that probably hadn’t moved in 50 years! We absolutely love places like this, where the dust, rust and history are all part of the charm. Hackberry is one of those stops where you plan to spend 20 minutes and somehow lose half your afternoon. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Hackberry General Store is one of those Route 66 stops where you could easily lose an hour without noticing. Vintage cars baking in the Arizona sun, old signs everywhere you look and wonderfully weathered buildings packed with decades of road trip history.

A day driving Route 66 is basically impossible without stopping every ten minutes because something old, rusty or gloriously sun-faded catches our eye. Cruising through Truxton, Arizona, we spotted the brilliant old Frontier Motel sign and, naturally, the brakes went on. The motel may have seen better days, but that sign is pure Route 66 gold.
