I'd be lying if I said this animation was easy to create. It took me WAY longer than I care to admit 🤣 This is my take on Betty Padden's traditional skep beehive.

Although I don't see Northern Cardinals here in the California desert, I used to see them when I lived in Missouri. I carved this Doug Linker 1x1 bird for someone special. I didn't follow the template as closely for the flat plane style. I wanted a little more texture, so I put my own twist on it.

I chose to create a stop-motion animation for this carving because I really like how the faceted cuts shimmer in the light as it rotates!

I was going back through some older Doug Linker videos and thought it would be fun to carve his "Simple Hillbilly/Gnome"...

I was going back through some older Doug Linker videos and thought it would be fun to carve his "Simple Hillbilly/Gnome". I did a little less flatplane carving - and decided to give him a tiny pipe.

I didn't capture any of the pipe carving in this video - but let me tell ya, it was delicate, and I had to carve very carefully to keep from breaking it.

A little birdie told me to carve this 🐦. Mounted to a piece of mesquite wood.🔴 SOLD
